1. What was the main reason for choosing quantitative approach (the questionnaire as
the method) for the current study and what is your evaluation, how justified this
choice was? What is your opinion, could the study also benefit from the qualitative
approach?
The main reason behind using quantitative method is that it quantifies actions,
views, attitudes and other characteristics in order to generate broad generalizations based
on wider population. In quantitative research, measurable data is used to express facts as
well as identify trends. The outcomes of this sort of study are derived using statistical and
mathematical instruments. Quantitative method mainly follows the structured approach
for an instance questionnaire regarding psychosocial attributes influence the work attitude
of Information technology employees on post-COVID-19.
As an alternative, qualitative approach could also be beneficial for this study
because This method is used to comprehend people's perspectives and perceptions. It
provides perspectives on many issues and aids in the development of concepts for
quantitative research.
2. Taking into the account the current COVID-19 situation, could you please identify
the most critical risk(s) (risk attributes) that need to be managed in order to ensure
the mental health of people in the IT sector?
In IT sector, Employees may experience increased worry and stress as a result of the
COVID-19 epidemic. Employers have duty to help employees and manage the threats to
their mental health that COVID-19 epidemic poses. Development of safe system of work
includes the creation of a COVIDSafe Plan. Unfortunately, just because companies in IT
sector have a COVIDSafe Plan and follow the Victorian CHO guidelines doesn't
guarantee fulfilled all of OHS Act and OHS Regulations obligations. Companies must
establish and maintain safe and healthy working environment for all workers especially
independent contractors, to the extent that it is practically practical. It covers any hazards
to a staff's mental health as well as when a worker leaves from a location apart from their
regular office including like their home.
