INTRODUCTION
The hospitality sector is considered as backbone of the economy which support travel and
tourism sector of country (Arjona-Fuentes, Ariza-Montes, and Law, 2019). In the hospitality
sector it is necessary for a company to focus on key factors which impact on its functioning. All
major companies in the international and national marketplace focus on hospitality sector's
changing operations with change in contemporary business environment. In the recent times, it is
major role of a company in hospitality sector to focus on operations and development to cope up
with current environmental needs. This project includes a brief description about the knowledge
of a sector within the hospitality that is hotel management. In this report example of Marriott
hotel is taken into consideration which is an international chain of hotels based in United States
of America. This project includes how the hospitality based tourism companies can provide
training and development programmes in order to ensure success of employees.

The hotel sector is considered as key sector in the economy which contributes to gross
domestic product. National income is considered as key factor in the economy, which is
developed and facilitate by hotel sector. In the recent times, many hotels and their chain operates
in United Kingdom. The hotel sector is considered as key sector which helps in increasing the
overall tourism figures in a country (Kesar, and Kaur, 2021). The Marriott hotel is considered as
one of the finest chain of hotels which perform key operations all across the globe. Headquarters
of Marriott hotel are situated in Maryland, United States of America. Marriott has franchise and
branches all over the world which are effective in providing quality based products and services
to all over the world. The other hotels which are famous in hotels all across the world are
Holiday Inn, Premier Inn and Classic Inn. These hotel operates at crucial locations in major
countries and try to increase their profitability and margin (Carter, and Loh, 2017). Government
of United Kingdom is also supportive to all hotels that operates within the economy. In the
recent times, many hotels choose locations on the basis of segmentation which is a major
principle of marketing.
Identification of various career opportunities that are provided by hotel sector
There are various career based opportunities available to different hotels like Marriott at
the marketplace. These career opportunities available to different people who are about to enter
hospitality sector career field are immense. There are several job positions like hotel supervisor,
manager, house keeping manager, kitchen manager and supervisor. It is essential for an
individual to focus on professionalism and its development to ensure maximum success (Clark,
Dimanche, and Lee-Rosen, 2017). The hotel manager is considered as responsible and main job,
which has various responsibilities and roles to keep hotel well managed. In the recent times,
hotel manager should play a role in managing all the employees who are associated with key
operations. The hospitality sector is one of the fastest growing sectors in the economy and
contributes to economic development. The famous hotel chains like Marriott hotel provides key
