Introduction
A reflection is defined as the opportunity where a individual tries to reconsider the event,
thoughts and feeling to determine the outcome as well as learning throughout a particular
situation. This involve preparing a written description about number of activities performed and
evaluation of those actions to determine the strength and weaknesses of an individual. This in
turn further support in determining what went right and what not so that development area can be
identified to improve the future performance by avoiding the mistake made within current
situation (Soriano, Mann and Friesen, 2019). This report is conducted in two section where part
one is about preparing the poster presentation regarding a research to be conducted. In section
part of this report there is a personal reflection of student about the experience or learning they
gain while performing section one. This will support in evaluating the learning from the task and
the strength and weakness that student identified while performing this work.
Main Body
Own reflection on performing research
This module bring up a so much of learning and experiences all together as it supported me
a lot in enhancing my knowledge and also provide me with a chance to identify the skills and
capability which I am having along with area of further development. As a part of this module
my tutor has assigned with an assignment where I required to prepare a present a research
proposal in the form of poster presentation (Walker, Jenkins and Voce, 2018). This was a group
task and after preparing the poster presentation we all have to present an individual reflection
where we have to present our experience as well as personal evaluation. When the assignment
was assigned to me, I was quite nervous as I do not have understanding about how to create a
poster with the help of power point presentation which was a difficult and actually a new task to
me. But then I make myself prepare to perform this task as with this I would be able to learn
something new.
For working over this project, I required to gather information about the area of
investigation selected in order to prepare a proposal of research in from of poster presentation.
So, for working over this project I firstly decided to have a discussion with my team mates about
what to do and how so that we all get clear about the procedure which we required to follow to

work over this. Throughout this meeting I realise that I got a good team to work with they all
were very helpful and support which provide me an instant motivation to perform that work
(Schmidt and Brown, 2016). So, I decided to work firstly assess the online sources for collecting
information regarding my proposal. For this I explore several sources in order to collect
information provided by scholars over similar paper. While performing this work I realised that
my researcher skills are quite good as within the short period of time I collected a larger amount
of data from the authenticated sources in accordance with my selected topic. This in turn has
saved my time and allowed me to use it for some another task. But as I proceed further, I have
identified that my data analysis skills are not much good as it was quite difficult for me to
concise all the gathered information. But as my team mates was very much supportive to me u
asked them to help me and they make me aware about several ways of performing data analysis.
I am glad that I got a team which is very much supportive to me and also help me in enhancing
my knowledge about several methods that can be used to improve the data analysis skills.
Other than this throughout this procedure of working within a team there are number of
times where I have to perform a discussion with my team mates. While this I realise that I
required to improve my communication skills so that I could be able to express my view
effectively in future when I have to perform similar kind of work and it is also important from
my career point of view. As while working with them I realise that I am not able to clearly keep
my point of view in front of other and also sometimes get hesitated about expressing myself. But
in order to perform well this is required to be improved (Skoy and Werremeyer, 2020). After
performing all this, when I started preparing my poster presentation I sit with my group and
started working. Though I am good at IT skills and know about several features of power point,
but while working with my team I learnt about several tools about which I was not aware earlier.
So, I also decided to work over further enhancing my IT skills as there always remain something
more to improve the overall performance.
Hence for improving my IT skills I decided to take online tutorials and practice it on my free
time so that I can upgrade my knowledge. Addition to this for communication skills I decided to
attend seminar to learn about things to remember or consider for better communication and also
take participate in debate, group discussion, presentations etc. Despite of all for improving my
data analysis skills I decided to consult with my teachers, read book, take online session and try

to implement in my other projects as well under the guidance of tutor so that I can cover up my
mistake and improve my performance by enhancing my capability for data analysis.
Conclusion
From the above-mentioned information, it can be summarised that reflection is crucial thing
which every student must use in order to perform their self-evaluation and determine the area of
improvement by determining their strength and weaknesses. This will not only support in
directing over the career path but also help students in learning from their mistake and to
improve themselves for their better version in near future practice. But performing reflection
over task performed, students become able to determine things that gone right or mistake made
by them along with reason of such mistake which ensures regular improvement.
