PROFESSIONAL AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT
Question 1:
How do you think that you could benefit from having mentor during the initial years of
your professional employment?
Mentoring is highly beneficial in professional development. When a new employee joins the
organization, they have limited knowledge regarding the process of working in that particular
work culture as compared to an experienced employee (Lau et al., 2016). Therefore, the mentor
can guide the new employee and encourage them in professional and personal development.
They help them to understand the goals and objectives of the organization and guide them to
ways in which they can attain those goals and targets. Mentors help to analyze the gaps in the
knowledge and fulfill those gaps to ensure that the employee becomes efficient in fulfilling those
gaps (Lau et al., 2016). The mentor help to develop the required skills or competency required to
perform the work effectively.
Question 2:
For each activity, describe how you believe that this will progress your professional career?
