“Reflection on the methodological approach towards challenges faced by disabled
people”
Overview of the methodology
I think mixed methodology is appropriate for conducting this research. This is in
terms of gaining an insight into the focus group and their mindset. According to me, the
researcher needs to adopt appropriate philosophical approach. I feel that rationality in the
approach is assistance for the researcher in terms of deducing relevant conclusions and
recommendations. I have learnt that review of the mixed methods seems fruitful in terms of
exposing hypothetical approach towards the real world problems like mental disabilities.
According to my opinions, deductive approach would assist me to deduce conclusions and
recommendations related to the issues, which the disabled people suffer from.
Personal views of focus groups
I feel that placing the target on the focus group is beneficial in terms of selecting the
sample size. I think that selecting the samples on the probability basis is advantageous in
terms of gaining an insight into their compatibility towards the mental challenges. I also feel
that incorporation of quantitative and qualitative research is assistance for the researcher in
terms of enriching the data collection process. As a matter of specification, I think qualitative
research would broaden the scope and arena of the readers regarding the issue of the mental
challenges encountered by the disabled people. This would be an external research clarifying
the concepts regarding the mental challenges of the mentally disabled people.
I feel that using mixed methods proved beneficial for the researcher in terms of
gaining trust, loyalty and dependence from the focus groups. Adopting positivism philosophy
seemed fruitful towards gaining an insight into the pluralistic views of the focus groups.
Here, special mention needs to be made of the disabled people in the workplaces. Therefore, I

think incorporating deductive approach is apt in terms of deducing relevant facts about the
challenges, which the managers face while employing disabled people. This approach is
beneficial in terms of proposing quality support measures for the disabled people. The project
is flexible enough for detecting the potential disabilities, which affects the performance of the
employees. The major drive behind this is the graphical representation of the disabilities and
their impacts, which indicates the discovery of quality support and care.
Personal opinions on selection of the samples
I agree to the selection of the samples according to the protocols. I think adherence to
the standards and protocols is necessary in terms of avoiding the instances of the
misunderstandings and misinterpretations. Within this, I can make mention of the policies,
which helps the researcher in yielding positive results. However, I think ethical
considerations is the most vital aspect for the researcher. This is in terms of maintaining the
privacy and security of the samples. I personally feel that ethics is important in terms of
preserving the individual sentiments of the samples.
Assuring the samples that their responses would be used solely for the purpose of
research and not for commercialization. I personally feel that rationality in this assurance is
effective in terms of gaining the attention of the samples. According to my opinions, ethics
also needs to be maintained in terms of data collection. Averting the instances of plagiarism
and collusions adds to the individual talents of the researcher. I also feel that acknowledging
the works of the authors enriches the preconceived skills, expertise and knowledge of the
researcher.
Reflection on the selection of sources
I think that consideration of the sources, which have been published within the last 10
years, is a planned action of the researcher. This is in terms of developing authenticity,

reliability and validity in the research. On the contrary, I can say that including sources,
which are older than 10 years, adds hypothetical approach to the proposed assumptions.
Recapitulation on the limitations
In terms of the limitations, I can say that no researcher aims to incorporate limited
area of knowledge in the research. However, time and financial resources binds the
researcher within certain limitations. In this case, I can point out biasness within the
responses of the samples, which aggravated the complexities of the researcher in terms of
deducing conclusions. The focus was on diverse groups and mix methods were used for
collecting the responses. Therefore, it reflected the time limitations. Cross sectional surveys
was also a limitation for the researcher. I can point out that due to the lack of adequate time,
the researcher failed to delve deep into the concepts related to the challenges faced by the
mentally disabled people.
I think the timetable is a planned action in terms of executing the tasks in an efficient
and effective manner. Focusing on the wellbeing of the samples is beneficial in terms of
gaining the trust, loyalty and dependence of the samples. Therefore, I feel consideration of
Data Protection Act (1998) is efficient in terms of maintaining the security and privacy of the
samples. Along with this, it is also important for averting the instances of conflicts,
discriminations and harassments within the data collection process. I also feel that
incorporation of inclusion and exclusion criteria is important in terms of averting the
instances of plagiarism and collusion.
Therefore, I can point out that the entire research can be based on Gibbs Reflective
Cycle. This is in terms of evaluation the acquired experiences and then undertaking the
necessary actions.
