INTRODUCTION
Business may be define as a legal entity in which people are engaged in different
commercial, industrial and professional activities with the main purpose of generating higher
profit. Business functions may be define as the different activities which are carried by the
employees of the company in order to achieve the set objectives (Bibi, 2019). This report is
going to give information about the different functions of TESCO plc. The company is a
multinational brand of UK an the headquarter are situated in Hertfordshire, England.
Organisations mainly deal in groceries and general items. TESCO plc was founded in 1919 by
Jack Cohen. This report also covers the role of different functions ans their importance while
working together.
MAIN BODY
Marketing may be define as the process which are undertake by the organisation in order to
promote the brand of organisation and help them in making connections with the investor,
customer and client. In relation to TESCO plc, the manager of the marketing department use
different digital and social media method for the branding of the product in the market. By doing
this they not only attract the new customer base but also increases the sales.
Finance department of the company is liable for arranging the funds for company when needed
and also manage the expenditure of the firm (Grannis, 2019) . The employees of this department
deals with all the financial functions of the business. In relation to the TESCO plc the employees
of this department make the financial reports like balance sheet or profit &loss a/c and also set
the budget for the different department of the company. They also generate the fund when
needed by the company.
The Production/ operational department of the company is responsible for manufacturing the
goods and services for the company so that sales department can sells these products in the
market. In context to TESCO plc, the employees of this department is responsible for
productions of goods and services, purchasing of raw material and control the quality of goods.
The main functions of Human resource department is hiring, screening, managing the
candidates for the company and develop training programme for them. In relation to TESCO plc,
the HR department of the company follow the rules which are related to the labour and
