This report presents a self-reflective analysis and career action plan, building upon prior research in the retail industry. It includes a personal analysis using SWOT to evaluate strengths (IT skills, flexibility) and weaknesses (communication, time management), converting strengths into opportunities and mitigating threats. The career action plan outlines SMART goals for becoming a marketing manager, focusing on improving communication, time management, and decision-making skills. Introduction
Self-reflection is an ability to evaluate or witness once strengths and weaknesses upon
performing a given task. The presented report is a reflective evaluation of CW-1 in which
research was being conducted on retail industry. Respective report will be an inclusion of
reflection over skills and knowledge developed during the course of previous assignment. Given
report include self-evaluation and career action plan based on research conducted in first project
(Warnock and Geschke, 2019).
Personal Analysis
Personal analysis refers to evaluation of once own skills as well as abilities through
which strengths and weaknesses of an individual over performing a certain task can be evaluated.
This is an inclusion of converting strength of an individual into possible opportunity and
identification of potential threats through weaknesses. For enabling an effective personal
analysis, I use SWOT analysis. This model helps me to develop better understanding in my field
of interest and also help me out with any shortcomings in my abilities or skill-set for performing
related activities. My SWOT analysis is presented below (Chinnamgari, 2019);
Strengths IT skills: My foremost strength relates
to in field of IT. I believe that, given
strength can help me out with perusing
desired career of my interest. Flexible: My flexible nature of working
helps me in approaching to a given task
irrespective of presence of complexities
in external environment.
Weaknesses
 Lack of communication: Due to lack
of communication skill, sometimes I
am unable to convey any important
message to provided receiver.
 Time management skill: Being
engaged in a given task, my main
motive is to derive maximum quality of
efforts being produced out of given
investment of resources. However,
sometime I miss deadline of the given
project which contribute towards my
weaknesses in field of time
management skills.
Opportunities Threats

 Digitalisation: With growing digital
technologies, I have a greater
opportunity to utilise my IT skills. This
provide me with better career
opportunity as due to gained
importance of digitalised world. Market uncertainties: This might
create a doubt if market uncertainties is
considered as opportunity. However, as
per my believes greater the market
uncertainties will increases the
opportunity for being innovative or
creative, thus getting better competitive
advantage.
 Complexities: Due to complex working
environment in variety of business
fields, it creates greater threat for being
innovative in respective field of
working.
 Regular update in technologies: Daily
update in technologies might create
threat in terms of increased
complexities for its use. This might
lead to high capital investment with
less output as a result.
From the above evaluation of my SWOT analysis, it can be said that I need to focus more
on my communication and time management skill. Taking instances of previous project in which
job role as marketing manager was being described application of my strengths can prove to
beneficial. On the other hand, by concentrating on my weaknesses various threats can be avoided
in performing several activities being in marketing profession.
Career Action plan
Career action plan is a guidance to an individual performance in respective field of
interest or willingness to pursue career in respective field. Through presentation of this plan an
individual is able to follow effective pathways in approaching to desired area of interest. My
desirable field is of Marketing manager of which a detailed action plan is presented with
SMART actions to be undertaken for attainment of such career path. This will be an inclusion of
various skills which I need to work on for achievement of desired life career goals as well as
objectives.

Conclusion
From the evaluation of above reflective report it can be concluded that, self analysis plays
an important role in defining the true value of success in once area of interest. I am glad for
completion of the project task. Furthermore, by evaluating various considerations in career action
plan, I was able to develop SMART action towards attainment of desired goals and objectives.
