INRODUCTION
Career growth and development is defined as the building up of the skills in the short time in order to get
the career growth in the form of the big picture. It is the overall progress of an individual in order to be good in
its professional life. It is basically defined in regards with different roles and responsibilities and individual take
throughout the entire journey of a career. Chosen field of career is the manager. Manager is a person who has
the responsibility of administering and controlling a group or an organisation. A person is regarded as a
manager if it contains the skills in managing the resources in an effective and efficient manner (Belfield,
Britton, Buscha and Zhu, 2019). The following discussion is based on the general trends which will impact on
the chosen profession. The report also covers the skills and knowledge along with the experience required.
Identification of the vacancy of the chosen profession and also the justification of why this job role is of interest
is also discussed in the following report. The report also gives the inside of the relation to the potential choice of
the profession and the personality suitability for the position. This report studies the new and emerging job role
within the chosen profession with conclusion.
Methodology
I have conducted the primary research with the help of surveys and questionnaires. This is done by
asking opinions and behaviours of others about the profession and observing the group opinion so that real time
views can be gathered. I have conducted the secondary research with the help of existing data available. I got
the existing data which is already summarised and correlated in order to increase the overall effectiveness of the
research. This is information which I have gathered with the help of public libraries and websites (Saenen,
Hatch, Curry and Lakoduk, 2021).
Analysis:
Heading 1: General trends which will impact on my chosen profession/industry.
There are various trends which have impacted the manager profession within organisations. Some of the
business trends are the changing role of today's manager in terms of globalisation and Technology Management
within organisation. The increasing speed of the business is also the growing trend which affects the manager’s
profile in the company. This is because the manager needs to learn new things every time as the business grows
in order to manage the organisation. Nowadays employee initiative is increasing therefore; managers are highly
responsible for this function as well. Other major trends which are affecting the manager's role with an
organisation are the need for greater trust and autonomy and impact of technology in the workplace. The
increasing employee need for meaning and purpose of their jobs along with the need for low cost motivational
options are also the major trends which are under the responsibility of managers in the company (Hirschi,
2018).

Heading 2: The skills / knowledge and experience required
Skills required for a successful management career involve good interpersonal skills. It also includes the
communication and motivational skills towards the employees which helps in the better organisation and
delegation of the authorities. Skills also include forward planning and strategic thinking which helps in the
innovation and creativity implementation within organisation. Problem solving skills and decision making skills
are the most important so that the accomplishment of the task can be done as per the needs and requirements of
the organisational objectives (Hughes, Miller and Reese, 2020). Commercial awareness and mentoring are all
the skills required for the management career. Talking about knowledge required for the managers are the
business planning and time management knowledge in order to run the organisation so that the achievement of
desired objectives can be done. a manager profile requires a minimum 3 years of experience in working and
performing in the leadership roles. Leadership roles include the supervisor and director along with the team
leader. It also demonstrates the excellent motivation and team leading along with the capabilities to achieve the
goals and objectives of the company. This helps in the successful management career in a more effective and
efficient manner (Potts, 2020).
Evaluation:
Heading 1: Identified vacancy from X profession/industry
There are various vacancies which have good openings for the manager profession. For example
vacancies of the technical manager which requires technical skills and management of the technical equipment.
Vacancies for the finance manager which requires the knowledge and experience in budgeting and investments.
Vacancies for the human resource manager which requires the experience and knowledge in recruitment and
employee management. Vacancies for the operation Manager which requires the skills and knowledge about the
production and inventory management. Vacancies for the research and development Manager which requires
experience in innovation and creativity of the new service or product launch. These are the several vacancies
which are open for the manager profession (Whiston, Mitts and Li, 2019).
Heading 2: Why this job role is of interest to me
I am interested in this role of manager because it consists of the skills and abilities along with experience
and knowledge as per my own attitude and personality. It means that a manager requires good leadership skills
which I am good in and I have good knowledge and experience in management. Therefore this role is of interest
to me and also it can help me in refining and developing my career in good organisations. Hence this can

support me in enhancing my standard with good profession in the companies (Herman, Nicholas, Watkinson

Heading 3: Relation to my potential choice of industry/profession
This role directly relates to my career progression and development of personality. As per the primary
research I have undertaken and the secondary research I have conducted, I have analysed and observed that the
manager role is directly and indirectly related to my potential. This is because every quality and skill required
for the manager role is having in me. That is why it matches my own personal potential (Johnston, Castellano
and Darche, 2019).
Heading 4: Personal suitability for this position
Personal suitability for the manager’s position is such that I have the personal experience and knowledge
about management. Skills and capabilities required for the management career not only require professional
skills but also the person suitability as well. Personal suitability includes the personal skills which link to the
management role such as the individual attitude and behaviour along with the beliefs (Keele, Swann and Davie-
Smythe, 2020).
Heading 5: New/emerging job role within this profession/industry
There are various new and emerging job roles in manager professions such as block chain management
and artificial intelligence specialist manager. These are related to the technical fields which also includes the
JavaScript developer and robotic process automation consultant along with the back end developer. Talking
about other fields, growth manager and site reliability engineer along with the customer success specialist and
full stack engineer are also the emerging manager roles. A robotics engineer and cyber security specialist along
with the Python developer and digital marketing specialist are also in the list of new roles of manager. Lead
generation specialist is under the marketing domain which is one of the most emerging roles of manager
(Hooley, 2019).
Conclusion
It is concluded that career growth and development is an important concept to learn and study so that its
applications can be applied in the real-time profession. This is because it not only enhances the professional life
of a person but also the personal standard of living as well. It refines the basic attitude and behaviour of an
individual. Therefore the above information covers the methodology of the research undertaken along with the
general trends which will impact on the chosen profession. It is important to analyse the skills and knowledge
along with the experience required for the profession. Hence this report covers all such areas in order to better
understand the career growth and development concept.
