INTRODUCTION
Graduate employment are those employment which generally need to hold a degree in a
particular field in order to start the career in a field or industry. The main aim to create this report
is to identify the area of graduate employment after leaving the university. As I prefer to choose
the field of marketing and obtain a degree of master in marketing for the same purpose.
Marketing is the field which includes several activities in the organisation. It is basis for the
success and failure of every organisation. Marketing includes all those activities which create
awareness among the target customers about the products and services offered by the
organisation.

It is important to analyse the chosen field as it is connected with the career of an
individual (Pereira, 2020) . The increase in use of technology affects the field in several ways.
There are several changes which are taken place in the field of marketing in the last few years.
Increase the use of internet sources – The use of internet on a very rapid manner changes the
concept of marketing. Traditionally marketing has only few options and conducted through
traditional methods only like hoardings, mouth to mouth publicity and advertisements but with
the increased use of internet in recent times increase the options to market the product in various
ways.
Adaptation of digital marketing – Digital marketing is a wide concept and includes all the
activities of promotion and sales through digital platform. In past few years it is observed that the
digital marketing became an essential tool in order to effectively market the products and
services of the organisation. Digital marketing increase the area of target customer andv helps to
reach the wider geographical area.
Increasing importance of marketing – In past few years the organisations understand the value
of marketing and understand its importance for the success of their business which increase the
demand of marketer in the organisations. Effective ideas for marketing the products and its
implementation is what an marketer do in an organisation.

more social media sites, it became a effective tool top reach maximum customers in cost
effective manner. Marketer needs to understand the value of social media and use this technique
to effectively market the products and services of the organisation in which that individual will
get employed.
Use of E-commerce – E-commerce refers to the process of buying and selling through electronic
modes. It includes all those modes of selling which are done through online methods. It includes
selling through websites, amazon and many more methods. This helps to sell items to the
customer and reduce the cost of establishment in various location of the organisation. If marketer
use this method fopr the organisation that person will going to work in then it will provide them
help to reduce cost of the organisation.
Branding through social media – Social Media is best known for its branding. It believes that
marketing through social media helps to create brand image for the product and services offered
by the organisation (Wahyud and Sanyata, 2020). This is the best method to be used by marketer

to the increase trend of digital marketing in the market. And in order to work in a large
organisation it is necessary for an individual to expertise in this skill.
Team work Skills: Management of marketing department is not a work to be done by a single
individual. It requires a team to fulfil the needs of marketing in an organisation. An individual to
became an efficient manager should have the ability to work in a team and accomplish
organisational objectives. Team work skill is a personal skill which is needed in every
individual; in order to work in a group of people.
Research skills: In order to become a productive marketing manager, it is very essential for the
individuals to carry out effective research practices in the market environment in order to
monitor and determine the current trends (Rey, 2020). The behaviour of the consumers can also
be assessed through prominent marketing research and can assist the marketing manager in
establishing the necessary strategies that can lead to advancement in the operations of the firm in
the long run.
Time management skills:Marketing of the products and services required the formulation of
time based targets that needs to be accomplishes within the set time frames in order enhance
efficiency and productivity in business functions (Nishiura, 2020). Hence, it is important for the
marketing manager to work upon the time management skills so as to manage the marketing
functions in alignment with the time allotted to the same.

and every step taken the marketing manager in facilitation of the marketing process should be
directed towards the enhancement of the sales (Abe and Chikoko, 2020). The respective practice
can assist the firm in generation of higher revenue from the market which in turn will lead to the
profit maximisation of the firm as well.

The job role of marketing executive in Marks and Spencer can be characterised as one of
the brilliant opportunity that can be availed by me in order to enhance my work
experience in the field of marketing.
Working as a marketing executive will help in learning the marketing antics that can be
utilised by me in order to deliver my operations in an effective and skilled manner.
This job opportunity has been taken into consideration by me as it will provide me with
the necessary global exposure that I always aspired to have at the start of my career.
The job position of marketing executive will help me to take a new step towards my
career goal.
