Knowledge, skills and experience plays important role for a graduate that not only helps
them to improve their employability but also allow them to enter in a chosen area of graduate
employment. Present report discussed on the future career planning and discussion in which I am
aiming towards to be a marketing manager in travel and tourism industry (Aaltolehto, 2021).
This industry is future oriented in which person can satisfy needs and demands of customers
around the world. Present report discussion has been conducted on global trends which impact
on this industry along with the significant skills and knowledge required to perform the job role
in respective industrial sector. For this, I discussed with my family and friends to enhance my
understanding on this industry and the job role.

Travel and tourism industry is a leading and fastest growing industry around the globe, as
this industry have enormous forms of opportunity for travel and tourism related business-like
tour operators travel agencies and more to satisfy the needs of emerging demand. There is
different type of sectors operating business operations in this industry such as events and
conferences transportation, food and beverage tourism, services accommodation, adventure
tourism and recreation and more. This industry is mainly concerned by act of travelling to
different forms of location that can be for business or pleasure purpose (Abahre, 2021). However
due to the dynamic changing business environment it has been identified that there are a number
of changes happening in this industry that can significantly impact upon the jobs for example
marketing manager. It has been identified that factors like globalisation and technology are some
of the major factors which is making significant impact upon this industry:

Tourism is an important area that globalisation effect, as globalisation is defined as a
process by which world is becoming increasingly interconnected which results in massive

facilities, as this is leading to effect in terms of sudden increase in potential tourist choices for

tourism industry in which they can attract large number of consumers based from any country
around the globe in order to enhance profitability and international brand image.

around the world and provide them 24/7 services. However, there are a number of changes
happening in terms of technology which is affecting on the job role of marketing manager in
travel and tourism industry sector. In order to perform this role, it is essential to undertake
advancement of technology and develop technical skills efficiently as to enhance effectiveness of

master degree along with some experience to perform marketing manager role. However,
candidates from marketing, communication and business management will preferred by some of
the organisations who have completed their graduation degree. I am having efficient skills and
knowledge to perform the role of marketing manager. I have capability to efficiently conduct this
role as during the time of applying for this role I will develop my skills more efficiently with the
help of different marketing programs and courses and will apply for marketing internship for one
month. This will significantly help me to grab this job in this industry. I am having significant
interest to perform my professional role in travel and tourism sector thus, if I have the
opportunity to perform my role as marketing manager then I can significant to utilise my skills
and talent to satisfy customers internationally. There are different types of job roles in travel and
tourism sector such as travel agent HR and more, but marketing manager is more interesting for
me as this allow me to utilise my skills knowledge accordingly. This is an emerging job role
within travel industry as a marketing manager is responsible to undertake advantage of digital
technologies to attract customers this makes this job role to be future proof.
