INTRODUCTION
Effective leadership is very essential in terms of ensuring the proper functioning of the company. It
also assist to drive the manpower of the company in order to achieve the desired results. It also
provides a right direction to the business. Without a proper guidance or leadership, the activities of
the company could be affected by the external disturbances which can bring the business into the
adverse condition. There are many theories and models of leadership which makes it rigid in the
area of business administration. It involves an in depth study of the concept of leadership in order to
lead the workforce. This report will provide a detail explanation of the procedure of determination
of personal contingency plan and identifying different operations which are required to improve the
leadership skills to render the desired outcome(Coleman and Bourne, 2018) .
MAIN BODY
The factor that is responsible for the success of the company is leadership. It is a fact that a good
leadership can enhance the profit maximisation of the company as it manages the overall
administration of the company from top to bottom. It also helps in assigning various tasks to the
employees or the workforce in the business organization in order to achieve the targets of the
company. Leadership refers to the process of managing and leading the individuals in a company so

as to ensure proper functioning of the business organization. In my opinion, a person must posses
leadership qualities in itself because it is one of the most important attribute which an individual
must posses. It can help in improving the personality of the individual. A person must acquire the
leadership traits by making use of necessary skills and knowledge. This can increase the
opportunities in the employment sector because there is requirement of good leaders in the business
organizations. In order to find out the leadership attributes in an individual, one must identify the
strengths and weaknesses which he posses at the first instance. This could be accomplished by
conducting SWOT analysis which is one of the efficient way to attain the leadership qualities in
itself. Because by performing SWOT analysis, an individual can make out the strong areas and the
areas in which a person is lacking behind. With the help of the theories and models of the strategic
management, a person can identify its capability and potency in terms of completing the tasks and
achieving the desired goals out of it. The understanding of the SWOT analysis can assist the person
in finding the risk factors and the threats which the individual is required to avoid. I conducted the
SWOT analysis of myself to determine the amount of skills and knowledge I need to imbibe in
myself in order to achieve the desired leadership qualities(Iordanoglou, 2018).
Strengths
I am optimistic and posses great amount
of confidence and energy.
I am hard working and can identify the
pain of the employees in a better way.
Weaknesses
I am not good at showing empathy.
I am not a strict at times when it requires
the most.
Opportunities
There is a wide scope in the attaining the
knowledge in the area of leadership.
The attributes of leadership can be
achieved through people based learning
instead of class based learning.
Threats
For carrying leadership qualities, a
person needs to command on the
interpersonal and communication skills.
Non- changeable forms of leadership.
On the basis of the above observation, I can draw a clear view of my strengths and weakness along
with the threats and the opportunities. By doing self evaluation, I can make out that I posses great
energy and confidence in myself and I am a hard working personality who holds the ability and
capacity to achieve the desired target in a specific period of time. I can also provide easy solutions
to the rigid problems which I can use it as a positive aspect for a company the company where I will
going to work. Besides the strong areas, I also found certain weak points which I posses. I cannot be

strict or stern with the employees and I am not good at applying empathetical cognition which is
considered as an important attribute which is required to be there in the leaders of the modern times.
I personally do not support the great man theory of leadership which states that the person is born
with the leadership qualities(Zeike, et.al, 2019). On the other hand I believe in the trait theory of
leadership which says that the leadership quality is acquired with the help of certain skills and
knowledge. The leadership traits can be developed by practising the transformational skills of
leadership which means that in order to become a impactful leader first of all an individual is
required to build a healthy relation with the employees by understanding their capacity to work.
This would help in pushing the workforce out of their comfort levels and make them work in an
efficient and effective manner. This will result in fulfilling the vision of increasing performing
ability of the company. When the workforce of the company started giving their hundred percent
sweat and blood to the organization, the business will surely achieve the success after completing
the day to day targets. In order to eliminate the weaknesses, I suppose to participate in many
activities like, social group discussions, cross cultural meet ups, communicating more and more
with the people. I also use to take part in the sports activities which helps to teach me the proper
way of maintaining discipline and cooperation among the team members.
CONCLUSION
The above report provides detail about different skills and attributes that is required by the leaders
of the modern times. In order to run the business in a right direction, an individual must posses the
qualities of a good leader. There are various leadership models and theories which can determine
the fact that whether the person holds the attributes of a good leader or not. Further, the report stated
that in order to become a leader, a person needs to maintain a healthy relationship with the
employees of the company so as to push them out of their comfort zones.
