INTRODUCTION
As we all know that in today’s world tourism industry is one of the most fastest growing
industry. Basically, this sector is the total of all the businesses which is directly linked with
facilities as it provides services to customers, pleasure and leisure activities away from the home
environment. nowadays, people likes to travel in different location to explore new places along
with feel the experience about different cultures and beliefs. Tourism plays a vital role for the
success of economy as it helps to boosts the revenue of the economy. Plus, it is helpful to
develops the infrastructures of a country. The present report will be based on the development of
contemporary tourism and highlights some negative and positive impacts in different terms such
as socio cultural, economic and environmental. Tourism sector is divided into two major parts
which includes tourism services industry and the travel industry. The report is going to cover all
the aspects relating to this industry and its services.
The first section- the development of contemporary tourism and significant
factors.
Tourism is one of the most famous sector in the world as it provides great contribution to
economy (Camilleri, 2018). However, it is also an agent of cultural and change and a significant
contributor to change relating to environments. As we all know that in today’s era the study
relating to tourism and industry is changing constantly. Contemporary tourism is all about an
international approach which presents a refreshing approach so that one can easily study about
tourism, considering issues relation to it. The issues may include changing trends, changing order
of the world, ethics relating to tourism, destination marketing etc. It is currently one of the most
essential yet highly misunderstood phenomenon at global level. In order to better comprehend
the dynamic nature of contemporary tourism experience, many tourism researchers in the world
have leveraged on the concept relation to system of tourism. Moreover, system of tourism
involves production, consumption and the experience generated. This approach is usually
explained as a geographical tourism system which consists of major factors which needs to be
taken into consideration such as:

ď‚· A transit route and last is the environment- the surrounding area of these three regions.

they want to explore new places. Another key factor is increased life expectance- there are a
greater number of old age people who travel from one place to another place as it can impact the
development of tourism also at global level. Also, if the power of spending money is high then
people can easily explore new place and spends more on their visits (Rashideh, 2020).

impacts of tourism. Economic impacts of tourism involve trade and investment at national and
global levels. Let us discuss some important points relating to impacts of tourism in a positive

Additional taxes- Talking about negative impacts there are large number of moving visitors
into an area pushes up the prices of services and products. Which means that local people have to
pay more for transport and food and drinks. Not only this, local people also have to pay
additional taxes on services like water treatment facilities, which creates issues for them in
financial terms (Akadiri and et.al., 2020).
Over dependency- this is another negative impact of tourism because nowadays due to
changing customer trends and their tastes business owners in the tourism sector have to be more
depended on changing trends and provide them services as per customer’s convenience to beat
the competition. For example- due to recent economic crisis there was sudden decline in number
of tourists visiting a particular destination which also creates loss of employment in some areas
and businesses were closed (Rather, 2021).

crafts and arts to meet the requirement of visitors (Zhuang, Yao and Li, 2019).
Increase mutual respect for the different lifestyles- as discussed tourism increase social
gatherings as it also benefits from new facilities which are provided for tourists. It also helps to
gain a greater mutual respect for each other’ s lifestyle in the areas they are visiting. It also helps
to improve their knowledge, social status and skills and encourage them to undertake training
and education so that it can help to achieve something relating to development in life (Bornioli
and et.al., 2022).

Increased crime- as we all know that increased in the number of people visiting in particular
areas will increase crime such as gambling, drug dealing, prostitution and robbery also (Wang
and et.al., 2020).
Loss of an area’s cultural identity-talking in relation with cultural impact, as we all know
that newly set up restaurants are providing international food and drinks to tourists and
encouraging others to eat these international food and drinks, this has somehow impacted the
cultural identity (Mikayilov and et.al., 2019).
