Trait Theory
1. From the given trait theory, I have recognized three points which are highly embedded in
me and motivate me towards becoming an excellent leader. These three traits include:-
Desire to lead- From a very small age only, I was always trying to become a leader and
enacting as a leader at my home or in school. I always motivate other people and change their “I
can?” to “I Can.” As a school president, I was always the first in taking the responsibility for any
functions or events held in the school.
Honesty & integrity- Being honest is one of the traits I am very much proud off. This trait
will be with me till the end of me. Sometimes I even get in trouble because of this, but I will not
change or risk my integrity for a small time span of happiness. One time, my senior asked me to
do homework for him and asked me not to tell it to anyone. But the teacher came to knew about
this and asked me whether I had done it or not. Being a junior I didn’t hesitate and answered
honestly.
Extroversion- I like going out, meeting new people, learning about their life, country,
technologies used in there. This is the reason why I am always super excited to learn about the
news and to meet new people. I have worked as a sponsorship head in my school too and got this
opportunity because of my extrovert nature only (Prentice, et. al., 2019).
2. Accountability is the one quality or trait, I think I have but is not mentioned in the trait
theory. Pointing finger at a person who has done a mistake is a lot easy than helping him
correcting his mistake. A good leader should always take a little more of blame that he has done
a can take a little less appreciation for what he has done. But he should always help the co-
workers in making them realize their mistake and helping them in correcting it. This is a very
important trait which needs to be present in the trait theory.
3. For becoming an effective leader some traits are required which needs to be possessed by
an individual. Looking upon the trait theory, I think that I can be an effective leader if presented
with a good opportunity. I possess more than 75% of the traits discussed in the traits theory.
Additionally, there are some traits which I believe are important for a leader but are not included
in the trait theory. I have acquired a good position in my school days and became the head of my
class by possessing such qualities only.

Situational, Transformational, and servant leadership
1. Situational leadership concerns more on follower actions than on the leaders. In this
leader’s actions are based on the follower’s actions. Although, this type of leadership helps in
finding out about the correct steps that need to be taken to make the followers work accordingly
to the leadership need.
Transformational leadership helps the followers by giving them a new sight for an old problem.
In this type of leadership, leaders’ focuses on encouraging followers to give extra effort as this
will help the organisation and also help them professionally (Yasir & Mohamad, 2016).
2. I personally believe that transformation leadership is more effective than the other two
approaches. Because in transformational leadership, leaders try to bring out the best in the
followers by encouraging them. This will help the organisation and also the followers at a
professional level. This helps the followers in finding out a new solution to an old problem. This
will helps in providing innovation in the organisation.
3. There was a time when I was working in an organisation and my mentor there, uses a
situational leadership in which his actions were based on our team performance only. We needed
to give a result of a work which was allotted in 3 days only but it actually requires 7 days work.
Our team was not able to do it but we all were willing to do it. So for this, our mentor helped us
by motivating us and explaining the benefits and advantages of the work that will be done. That
helped us in achieving the target in the set limit which was seen very beneficial at a professional
level.
Identify a leader- power
1. A leader is an individual or thing which maintains a leading or higher role within his
sector and has a high degree of command or impact over others. Business leadership is a
company management's ability to set and attain difficult objectives, to act quickly and decisively
when required, to outperform the competition and to encourage others to perform at the greatest
levels possible. For business and its staff, management offers guidance. Employees must
understand the direction they are heading to and who to follow in order to achieve their
destination. Leadership includes showing employees how they can efficiently carry out their

and influence is received from his power by Coercive Power. Coercive power is defined as using
force to instruct or order an employee when power derives from his ability to punish the
employee for non-compliance. For example, this authority is used if a worker makes an order for
a job or an annual bonus to get lost. They are actually compelled to do the job.
3. An expert in power who has taken advantage of power and influence in a positive way
receives his power. Expert authority is described as using expert understanding (perception) to
obtain a subordinate to follow the instruction or order. Here, authority is derived from the belief
that the subordinate has special abilities or expertise that they do not own. For example, An
economist who has worked out for centuries in darkness before he lastly won a Nobel Prize.
After winning the award, their status will be converted instantly into that of a global financial
specialist and governments may even be invited to assist define financial policies. Their
experience implies that the government listens to their comments and, because of their skills, is
even able to carry on their ideas and alter economic policy.

1. Some people have inborn leadership traits but one can be a leader by adopting these
traits. Looking upon various traits and insights of the leadership profile, I believe that I will be a
leader who will understand the need of the organisation and as well as the need of the followers.
This will be helpful for me and as well as for the followers. I would really like to incorporate
Hershey Blanchard situational theory in my leadership. This will help me to know how to
motivate the employee depending on their willingness and ability. For me as a leader, honesty,
desire to lead, accountability are some of the very main points that need to be noted. This is very
much important in the work which was done and also in the work that was about to be noted.

will be done if all these theories are followed. This will help me in learning new models through
which I can help my followers or my coworkers. Furthermore and more innovative ideas will be
