The assignment helps in overall analysis of the article “Assessment of
Undergraduates’ Real-World Outcomes of Critical Thinking in Everyday Situations”
wherein the background of the research is to understand the real outcomes of the critical
thinking approach in the different situations in everyday life. The critical thinking is one of
the major approaches of the “good thinking” which helps in integration of the different set of
cognitive skills along with dispositions to utilize the respective abilities to increase the
overall rate of success in the various academic settings, daily life along with the different job
market in an appropriate manner (Franco et al., 2017).

issues which have been faced while reviewing the article. Proper discussion on the research
objectives and questions are required to be identified and analyzed which will be beneficial
for the overall synthesising of the information. The structure of the essay will be constituting
the critical analysis, critical evaluation along with the conclusion of the article. The six types
of adverse events in life due to the lack of critical thinking is academic negligence, rashness
along with poor impulse control that affected the growth of the undergraduates. The

critical thinking in the different fields along with the undergraduates that will be beneficial
for identifying requirements.

2MANAGEMENT
The background of the research is to analyse the importance of critical thinking for
the undergraduates in dealing with everyday situations. The critical thinking is one of the
core academic skills which teaches the undergraduates along with postgraduate students to
question or reflect on the own information and knowledge which are presented to them. The
respective ability is essential for the different students working on assignments and
performing different research.
Furthermore, the primary objective of the research is to analyse and understand the
importance as well as the impact of critical thinking on the different life events in the face of
everyday challenges and decisions which are required to be analyzed effectively. The core
research questions which are necessary to be addressed in the respective article is relating to
the analysis of the critical thinking and life outcomes with proper usage of Real-World
Outcomes. The other aim of the research is to explore the psychometric qualities of the RWO
inventory with the help of the Theory of Planned Behaviour which will be helpful in
accurately understanding the aspects.
These are the two different aspects which are essential as it will help understand the
utilisation of the RWO in the critical thinking decision-making process among the
undergraduates. Moreover, the research problem is related to the impact of critical thinking
on the life events in the context of everyday decision-making aspects which is unclear in
nature.
Moreover, the entire research has been conducted with the help of the exploratory
study wherein 230 first-year students pursuing the bachelor's degree or Master's Degree in the
economy of Portugal who has completed the experimental Portuguese version of the Real-
world outcomes. It was the self-report which helped in measuring the everyday life events
which were negative and that mediated by the lack of proper and critical thinking.

From the overall research, it has been found that the core competency of the critical
thinking is applied thinking and inventory can be one of the significant approaches which are
the relevant instrument which will be beneficial in grasping the everyday outcomes of the
various students appropriately. However, there are few limitations wherein the first aspect is
concerning the lack of reliable data supporting the overall validity of the RWO inventory.
The primary significance of the findings is that critical thinking is one of the major
aspects which should be identified by the undergraduate students which will be beneficial in
improving their overall effectiveness in solving the issues faced by them in the real world.
With the implementation of the critical thinking, it will help the students in developing an
essential mindset in evaluating the information and analyse from wherein the information is
generated, and it will be helpful for them to become successful.
Critical Evaluation
From the respective article, it has been analyzed that critical thinking is one of the
most essential aspects which should be adopted by the different students in the real-world
scenario which will be helpful as CT is one of the most appropriate academic skills which
helps in teaching the undergraduates along with the postgraduate students as it can lead to
developing the judgment, evaluation along with problem solving abilities (Abrami et al.,
2015). The learning critical thinking skills will help enhance academic performance. In the
present scenario, the most appropriate criteria for success in college is the overall ability to
think independently while being logical at the same time as well.
Moreover, from the overall analysis of the article, it can be identified that critical
thinking means making the reasoned judgments which are well-thought as well as logical and
it is one of the significant processes of thinking wherein the students or the other individuals
do not simply accept the arguments presented by the other individuals along with conclusions

which are exposed; however the attitude is slightly different which involves questioning such
arguments along with conclusions. In addition to the same, critical thinking and problem-
solving aspects refers to the overall ability to use the different knowledge along with data and
facts which will be effectively appropriately solving the problems.
The earlier foundation of critical thinking is built in such a manner which will create a
sense of information among the students through thinking as well as analysis. Critical
thinking helps the individuals to think clearly along with in a rational manner. It is also
defined as the ability to think clearly, independently as well as in a reflective mode. The
people mistake it as they feel both normal and critical thinking are the same; however, there
is a considerable difference between critical as well as rational thought, and the qualities
which should be incorporated by the critical thinkers are as follows:
People think actively and in an open-minded manner
Exploring the different situations with questions
Believing in an independent way
View the different situations from the various aspects of life
Identification of the proper relevance along with advantages of the ideas
However, on the other hand, the point which is disagreed in the entire article is that
the thinker itself can gain critical thinking benefits and the critical thinkers are out of place in
the culture of the present scenario, and it solves nothing; however, it creates more difficulties
for the thinkers. Lastly, critical thinking is one of the mental self-gratification, wherein it
satisfies the thinker itself; however the benefits are not being shared as well (Birgili, 2015).

The strengths of critical thinking among the undergraduate students wherein it is
considered as the professional and academic success. Critical thinking will be helpful, and it
will make the individuals use in whichever fields they wish to perform. The significant ability
to look at the professional area and making various connections to identify opportunities
which no one else have yet seen it (Carter, Creedy & Sidebotham, 2016). In the competitive
business environment, standing out in the crowd will be helpful for the individuals to gain
success and become more competitive. On the other hand, the major drawback of the critical
thinking approach is that the vested interests feel threatened as their authority are undermined
by the new ideas, and it could have many different repercussions.
Conclusion
Therefore, from the above analysis of the respective article, it can be concluded that critical
thinking is one of the major aspects which has both advantages and disadvantages due to their
application. Moreover, with the implementation of the analytical thinking approach, it is
helpful in promoting the different interests and the process of expanding knowledge brings
lot of different opportunities which will be useful in cultivating the critical thinking skills
along with providing them plenty of opportunities for the individuals to explore the different
things which will give joy to the undergraduates. However, the major drawback or setback of
the critical thinking approach is that real-world outcomes can have various limitations,
however with the theory of planned behaviour may aid the understanding of the performance
of students and contextualise in a better manner regarding the adverse outcomes which have
been experienced by the students.
