Personal Leadership Style
Leadership is considered not just at the work but all around the world and leaders are one
who takes the steps forward for taking charge of the situation. It can be at home, at work or any
other place depending on the situation. The paper aims to explore the personal leadership style
by determining the values, vision, and related leadership practices.
While pursuing my degree, I gained the opportunity to work at my cousins business as an
operational manager because he was not there in the town. I volunteer to get engaged in the work
to lead the group to evaluate the customer experience towards the product. It is a team of five
peoples including me. The activity of the group was to survey with the customers who have
purchased our products to evaluate their experience with the company and product. In this
activity, I performed my roles and responsibility as the leader so that our team can achieve the
objective that is to identify the people with good customer experience. I believe that the situation
shows that Transformational leadership style is appropriate for this project. Being the leader of
the group, I perform the five practices of the exemplary leadership that include modelling the
way, inspire a shared vision, challenge the process, enable others to act and at the end encourage
the heart.
I believe that the most essential quality that makes the leader different from the other
people is the ability of the person to think strategically. Leader guide and facilitate others to
make a positive difference in their own lives that contribute to a larger good (Kouzes & Posner,
2017). The values of the leaders help them to work in a group so that accomplish the objectives.
My personal values that help me to meet the goals of the teamwork include respect, integrity,

can share the work and work to achieve the objective (Mustafa, 2013). For instance, I organised
the meeting in which the team communicated with each other. I took the responsibility and
assigned the work to every member after listening and communicating with them about the skills
at which they are good. This helps me in assigning the work according to their skill and bringing
the changes in their behaviour by guiding a proper vision.
I being the leader of the group inspire the shared vision due to which the group has been
prepared. The communication with the team members for knowing their aspirations and goals for
the future are must, as this is the only way that they fit with the greater organisational picture
(Posner, 2017). I believe that the vision of the group is to identify the experience of the
customers with the product that helps in identifying the issues that are faced by the customers
with the products. I ensure that the vision is communicated to every member with the motive to
check and make his or her future vision. This might add value and other people with the motive
to share the aspiration of the vision.
While leading the team my style of leadership helps me in finding the major issues
related to the change as these are affecting the group (Holten & Brenner, 2015). One of the major
issues is that they do not like to work with any of the new members that mean that they were not
able to accept me as their leader. For example, there is resistance to change by the employees in
terms of a group member and changes in their work responsibility. This means that the
employees of the company are not compatible with changing the environment that is a leading
differences, treating others with the dignity, culture differences empathy, and many others. For

each other because they are maintaining their self-respect and giving importance to them. This
makes me find that the team is dealing with the issue of coordination among each other
(Ghasabeh, Soosay & Reaiche, 2015).
Being the leader, I know this my responsibility to resolve the issues and bring the change
with commitment among the members so firstly I coordinated with every member and inform the
exact situation due to which I joined the team. Further, I conducted a session in which the team
members were supposed to work in pair that enhanced the coordination among the members. In
addition to this, the members communicated and learnt from the experiences of the different
people that brought the change in the perception (Antonakis, & Day, 2017). In addition to this, I
encourage, inspire, and motivated them while communicating with each other. For instance; I
appraised the work done by them in pairs which makes them believe that together they can work
effectively. Further, I guided them that it is essential for them to work in the diversified
organisation and to accept the change as it will lead to their personal development. Once the
employees gained the importance of personal development, they accepted the changes.
Once the members started accepting the changes and me as there leader, I shared my
responsibility and accountability so that they can take the required steps and come out of their
comfort zone. This makes them collaborate with the other members who want to join the team
and to offer the guidance to them so that they can contribute towards the goals and trust them
(Choi, Kim & Kang, 2017). Considering this, I appreciated the work done by every team
member that includes the way the team contacted the customers and asked about their experience
with the product that they ate making use. In addition, I valued and appreciated the skills and
values of the employees that help them in understanding the things easily and acting in the
issue for the leader. In addition to this, I found that the members of the team are not coordinating
