Part A
The word Business has got many definitions which have been opined by various scholars.
According to scholars, business is a company or an organization where people usually work
together (Nußholz, 2017). People work hard to create and sell services and products in
a business. Others have described it stating that a business usually occurs when
organization or people profit by providing their consumers or customers with services
and good in exchange for money (Foss & Saebi, 2018). However, business according
to me is a company or an organization who is engaged in activities like professional,
commercial and industrial in order to generate profits for the continuous growth and
expansion of the business.
Since I was a child I was never inclined to the creative field like music or dance. I always
aspired to work for big corporate in the world and acquire a good position in one of the best
and leading companies in the world. When I grew up more, I realized that this feeling still did
not go away and figured out my ultimate goal. I wanted to be a game changer in the business
industry and thus enrolled myself in this course in Torrens University. Torrens University
provides quality education to their students which help the students in getting proper
knowledge which they are able to use in their professional as well as personal development.
In order to get into the desired industry I had to learn the basics and well as the difficult
factors of business like market, consumers, stakeholders, the implementation of different
models, marketing and many more to make myself efficient enough to get into this industry
and make a mark of my own.
Before enrolling in Torrens University, I had interned under the manager of a small
aquaculture business. I had interned here for about a year and witnessed the progress of the
organization. Initially when I joined it was a three year old company who were producing

salmon and tuna and supplying it in the local markets. While working here I understood the
basics of a business like the clients, the customers, the other necessary resources and the
secondary factors like branding and promotion and many other factors which is necessary for
almost all the business in recent times. I basically assisted my manager so I would conduct
meetings, communicate with the shareholders, and make video presentations for meetings
and other jobs that were assigned to me. This helped me gain a lot of experience which I feel
will give my curriculum vitae a weight.
The experience at the aquaculture business has been extremely beneficial for me. I was
always interested in the business world and working in this organization helped me get a
close look on how business of an organization works and what are the things that are essential
and detrimental for a business. According to scholars, practical experience is important in
order to get accustomed to the work and for clear understanding (Iversen, Malchow-Møller &
Sørensen, 2016). I feel that this experience will help me further in my professional career and
also at Torrens University where I have enrolled for this course. As the work experience was
so positive and enriching, this has motivated me to enroll in Torrens University where I will
be able to understand and learn the concepts in details. Aligning with the models and theories
taught in the course with my experience will help me understand the lessons better and will
be easier for me when put to practical use.
I am looking forward to join this course as I want to gain knowledge and enrich myself so
that I can use his knowledge and the degree to fulfill my dreams of working in the business
sectors with the notable people. I will make sure that the required outcomes of the course are
met so that I can grow and develop myself. After studying a particular unit I will try to apply
it somewhere I intern during the course without trying to get a glimpse of the chapters and
models which will help me understand how much I have learnt n depth. I will also start the
different elements of the course to my specific learning objectives which I feel will help in

storing the knowledge. In this way I will be able to even monitor my studies and ensure that I
acquire good grades in the semester which will help in the long run when I will work for
other organizations in the near future.
Before enrolling for this course at the prestigious Torrens University, I was very clear with
my goals and focused and knew exactly what I would like to do with my life and how I
would chalk out myself to reach to the position in order to fulfill my dreams. I am currently
aiming to get work in one of the reputed firms or organizations in the country and then work
hard and gain experience to gain a better position. According to me this course will help me
understand the details of a business which I will use practically aligning with my thought and
decisions in the organizations I work for to help them expand and be more successful in the
market.
I feel that this course will not only help me to set foot in the business world but will also help
me set and achieve the goals I have in my mind. This course will help me aim bigger in life
so that I can be a successful individual. I would like to work for the biggest firm in the world
and attain the position of CEO or other influential posts in the business and make a name for
myself. I feel using the knowledge that I gain from this course, putting that into practical use
and aligning it with my thought process and my skills I will be able to achieve my goals and
will become successful in life. I am extremely excited for this course and I cannot wait to
attend the course so that I can learn and later be a successful individual in life professionally
as well as personally.

Good morning my respected teachers and my wonderful classmates
Today I will be talking about how the course in Torrens University has changed my
life, changed the perception about the field, business and how it has helped me grow. Before
joining this esteemed university for the course I was interested in business and knew some
basic concepts and some what I learnt from the experience I had after working for an
aquaculture business company. However, I did not know all the basic concepts and other
factors in details. Business is a vast subject and I was aloof thinking about the basic only.
However, this course has helped me know about new concepts, models and theories in details
that are used and implemented by many successful big corporations around the world. There
were many things which were unknown to me before joining this course about business and
the different aspects and part of business. From the course I came to learn about the different
designations that are present in a business apart from the CEO and other basic managerial
positions. I came to know that business does not just run on the work of the employee, the
produced products or services but there are various other elements like shareholders, clients,
policies set by the government and many other things that need to be maintained and
checked. I came to know about the importance of strategic management and other types that
help a business during a crisis and also to make positive changes in the organization that may
help bring fruitful results to the organization. This course has helped me gain immense
knowledge and has helped in understanding about business in a detailed manner and in depth.
This course has helped me gain knowledge about the various business policies,
models, theories and concepts. The models and concepts have been one of the most
interesting and vital things I have learnt which I feel is not going to help me in getting good

grades but will also help me in my further professional career. According to me one of the
most important things I have learnt in this course is about strategic management and its
importance and the different strategies that used in a business in order to pave way for
success. I use to think before that strategies are usually used only during the time of crisis and
sometimes during the making of some policy in an organization but here I came to
understand and learn about the use of strategic management in various different situations.
According to scholars, strategic management is often known as the art of business planning
(Camilleri, 2018). The use of strategic management is relevant in recent times and new
strategies are being developed which shows that it is going to get enhanced in different ways
in the near future however the concept and the basics will always remain the same which I
feel will help me in the future when I work for other organizations to make a proper business
plan and contribute to the success of the organization.
This course will help me in fulfilling my desired goals which I have had for years.
The goal I have is to work for a major company and acquire a good position in the company
in order to expand their business and make the business a success and also make me
successful. The earning outcomes from this course will help me to put all the knowledge to
practical use and help make organizations move towards a positive change.
This course is already helping me learn a lot and the amazing and efficient faculty
with their immense support will further help me to understand the study of business in a way
that after passing out also I will be able to remember everything and use it to my advantage.
This course will not only help me in acquiring knowledge but will help me in my personal
life as well where I will be able to use strategies to solve other problems apart from work.
This course will not only help me to get theoretical knowledge but will provide
practical experience as this course conducts workshop and other field work which helps to get

a clear picture about the business. This course has been beneficial till this time and the first
thing I would do is sit for many interviews in different organizations and once I get chosen
will work hard and make a business plan and show them to see my capability and work hard
irrespective of the outcome. I would like to do another internship that would help me gain
more experience in this field and help me enhance my skills and knowledge. This course has
helped me understand the concept of business in a detailed manner which I hope will bring
positive outcomes to my future.
