MANAGEMENT
PART A
Personal definition of business
According to me, business is the transactions, which takes place between the buyers
and sellers. Management of these transactions is vital for ensuring that the buyers get the
products and the services according to their requirements.
Choice behind selection of the course
I selected to study business management in Torrens University for developing my
skills, expertise and knowledge regarding the ways and means in which the organizations
deal with the clients and the customers for executing the business operations.
Past experience
My past experience is not a productive one, as I failed to complete the business
projects according to the requirements. My team mates were not cooperative, which
compelled me to encounter negative results in the form of delays in submission.
Contribution of the past experience into the preparation for the course
Achieving negative results has adversely affected my performance in the business
projects. Rebukes and scolding from the supervisors and tutors has mentally affected me. As
a result of this, I lack concentration in performing the tasks, which have been assigned to me.
The intensity of this issue is so severe, which has generated within me an urge to display
good performance. Therefore, I have planned to get admitted into the course of business
management in Torrens University. Indulging in group discussions have helped me to prepare
for the course.

MANAGEMENT
I think maintaining checklists and templates would help me to assess whether the
required outcomes of the course are met. This is in consideration of the course requirements,
which I would refer by logging into the website of the Torrens University. Along with this, I
would take feedback from the tutors and supervisors regarding my performance. Face to face
discussions would assist me to ensure whether I am performing according to the course
requirements.
Managing and monitoring the study
I can set routines for organizing my activities. Setting time limits to these activities
would upgrade my approach towards the assigned duties and responsibilities. Evaluating the
exposed performance would bring to the forefront the drawbacks in my performance, which
needs modification. Spontaneous approach towards modification would reflect my dedication
and commitment towards attaining personal development. Consistency is needed in this
evaluation for upgrading the standards and quality of my performance.
Future applications of the study
After completing the course of business management in Torrens University, I can
avail the placement offers levied by the business schools. These programs would make me
aware about the salary, post and the business dynamics of the companies and organizations. I
also feel that participating in this programs would be effective in gaining an insight into the
prospect avenues, which I can avail for enhancing my personal and professional
development.

good services from the companies and organizations. Considering this statement, I need to

MANAGEMENT
Part B
A very good morning to all the Jury members, professors, administrative personnel
and my fellow colleagues. Today, I am going to elucidate my views about taking admission
in the course of business management.
Since my childhood, I pursued a dream of becoming a successful businessman like
my father. After completing graduation, I began my search for the universities offering
postgraduate diploma courses in business management. Surfing the websites of the colleges, I
came across the Torrens University. I was surprised that the university offers postgraduate
courses in management, especially covering the topics of business administration, global
project management, public health, business information systems, leadership, accountancy
and others. This variety affected my purchasing power and decisions in terms of enhancing
the thinking skills and judgmental capabilities regarding attaining personal and professional
development.
I got to know that the University is a platform for catering to the quality placement
opportunities for the students. Apart from this, tie-ups with Chifley Business School, APM
College of Business and Communication, Australian Graduate School of Leadership and
others made me feel the wide supply chain network of the University. I think this is one of
the greatest strengths of the University, making it a preferred choice for the students
intending to pursue higher studies in the field of business studies.
The infrastructure is flexible, which lured me to take admission in the courses offered
by the University. The Student Support Team, policies, events and workshops suffices the
need for catering to the needs of the students. I feel that skilled and qualified staffs are needed
in terms of disseminating the essential skills related to the management of business. At this
stage, I am reminded of the harrowing past experience, where teachers and supervisors

rebuked me for failing to complete the projects according to the requirements. I am surprised
that Quality Assurance tests are conducted frequently at the University, which is an initiative
towards enhancing the standards and quality of education. I feel this is needed in terms of
ensuring that the students accomplish their targeted goals.
During the orientation program, we were told about the topics, which would be
covered in the course module. This reflects transparency in the services to be provided to the
clients and the customers. I think this transparency develops reliability, validity and
authenticity in the programs and services levied by the University. Evaluation and audits are
the agents to ensure that the goals are being met. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the
professors for cooperating with us. They are taking pains for ensuring that we emerge
successful in fulfilling the targeted goals.
I promise to expose performance according to the requirements. Organising the
activities by setting routines reflects the measurability of my claims. Evaluation of the
exposed performance through checklists and templates makes the objective of developing
critical thinking skills in analytics, a realistic one.
