1BUSINESS COMMUNICATION
Braun et al. (2019) are of the viewpoint that an effective communication network or
process had become one of the most important requirements of the present-day business
enterprises. Effective communication within the workplace helps to maintain the necessary
connection between its different departments and thereby helps in the effective completion of
the work of the enterprise. The purpose of this paper is to analyse the importance of
communication with the present-day workplaces.
According to Anthony and Garner (2016), communication within the workplace is
important since it helps in the transfer of the required information from one department of the
enterprise to another. For example, it is seen that without the transfer of relevant or required
information regarding the different job roles that the individuals are required to perform it
becomes very difficult for the individuals to complete their job roles (Cardon & Marshall,
2015). More importantly, as stated by Coombs (2015), the adequate usage of the process of
communication also ensures the fact that the disputes or the conflicts which inevitably arise
in the workplace are being managed in an effective manner. This in turn ensures the fact that
the workers are being able to perform as per the needs of the enterprise and thereby help the
enterprise to attain the strategic or the business objectives or goals that it had outlined (Dulek
& Campbell, 2015).
To conclude, effective communication serves different purposes within the modern-
day workplaces. For example, it is seen that they serve as the necessary link between the
different departments of the workplace and also help in the effective transfer of required
information from one department to another.
