Introduction
The analysis in the case study is mainly related to the organization named Timothy &
Thomas which operates its factories in many countries in the world. The major issues which
were faced by the company were related to the manufacture of different cloth based items in
their factories. The use of child labour was identified as an important issue that was faced by
the company and its factories in the third world countries. The image that was developed by
the company was under threat due to the issues that had been raised in this factory. The report
will thereby be related to the analysis of these issues and the social sustainability based issues
that are being faced by developing countries 1.
Analysis of current situation in social sustainability based regulations
Development of the sustainable and ethical supply chains has played an important role
in the current business based environment. The supply chains in global areas are required to
be developed in an efficient manner. The different changes which are thereby taking place in
the schedules and costs need to be managed in an effective manner 2. The activities related
outsourcing that have been performed by different organizations play a major role in facing
challenges that have been posed by the business environment. The organizations thereby need

to set specific standards based on their operations to follow the regulations provided by

The different organizations based in the United States have been capable in fulfilling
the social and ethical responsibilities. The factories and operations of many organizations
have thereby been shifted to developing countries in order to reduce the costs. The
organization which has been analysed in the case study is based in the United States and is
facing issues based on the usage of child labour. The social sustainability related regulations
have been formulated by different governments in order to ensure the proper levels of
operations 4. The negative and the positive impacts that have been made by the organizations
are controlled with the help of these regulations. The US based organizations thereby need to
follow the regulations that have been developed in the modern business environment. This
will help them to maintain their reputation in the industry in a positive manner. 5.
