Introduction
This is a short reflection on my learnings during the weekly studies of the modules. There will be
discussion about various topics that I learnt in my class, and that is relevant to me. The reflection
will emphasize my past experiences that I had related to the studied topics. I will also discuss
about the application of the important topics learnt during the class sessions in my future and the
workplace. The reflective report will present my understandings about the important topics of
management that will help me in my future.

Topic Analysis
There are various important elements that are included in the wider topic of management. The
term management contains various aspects and factors that affect the effective management in an
organisation. Here I want to discuss those important aspects of management that can have a
direct influence on the operations of a company. The topics are relevant for me to study as in my
future I want to be the manager of a big multinational company and for that, I need to understand
about these important topics that are related associated with the management of a business.
Firstly I want to discuss the nature of the organization that is very important to be understood as
to work in any organisation, it is significant to know the features of organisation and the
corporate structure followed in the business. Organisation is an association of people who come
together to attain a common objective to earn profit and serve society. As learnt in the class, I
can say the organization is a set of processes. An organisation can be defined as the process of
planning, the arrangement of resources and grouping all the diverse activities so the common
objective of the business can be accomplished. The second nature that I understood about the
organisation is the structure. As per my learnings, organisation is a structure of frameworks,
duties and responsibilities that are to be performed by the key people of the business. The second
relevant topic that I learnt during the session is the role of management in the organisation and
the major challenges that are faced by an organisation during its operations. Management plays a
vital role in business. By the effective management of all the activities and operations of the
business, the organisation is able to meet all the pre-determined objectives of the business
(Helfat and Martin, 2015). Organization faces many challenges as cultural differences, financial
crisis, lack of employee contribution, the uncertainty of the future and all these issues are
resolved by the business by the effective management (Taylor & Kluemper, 2012).
In the second half of the first module, I gained insights about the techniques of motivation,
power and politics in an organisation. I also had some past experience in this topical area. I
worked in an organisation as an employee and had the responsibility to recruit suitable
candidates for the business. The business had good working environment, but there was no
motivation level as there were no techniques adopted by the management to encourage the
employees. Everybody just did their daily work and did not take any extra responsibility as they

had a lack of motivation. I also left the organisation as I had no encouragement to continue
working in that organisation. By this, I understood that the management of an organisation must
take important decisions and adopt some effective motivational techniques so that the employees
stay engaged with the organisation and contribute to their fullest in the business (Hur, et. al.,
2016). In an organisation, there are some key people who have power, and sometimes they play
politics to have more power and authority. As per my learnings, I can say that the dirty game of
power and politics creates a negative working environment and can hamper the operations of the
business.

In the second module, I studies about the importance of effective communication in the business
and the conflict resolution. In an organisation, there is a need to implement an effective
communication framework that can enable all the employees to communicate important business
information. This can also resolve the unnecessary conflicts arising in the business.
All these learnings will help me in my future because as a manager of a multinational company
in my future I need to have I information about the effective motivational techniques and
communication skills so that I can lead the employees in the organisation and face all the
challenges of the complex business environment.

Conclusion
The report concludes that the learnings about the important concepts of effective management
can help me in my future, and I would be able to discharge my duties efficiently while working
in an organisation. Organisation, communication, power, politics, conflicts resolution and
motivational techniques are significant as they help in the achievement of the organizational
objectives.
