Introduction:
The aim of this paper is to discuss the various facets of leadership in different
situation of life and how the growth of the personal and professional aspects can be
developed through theories, feedback and the method of reflection. This particular report will
reveal the personal and professional live and incidents where the leadership qualities in me
will be revealed properly. On the basis of Gall up test, and the feedback from my classmates,
the leadership style in me and the factors needed for successful leadership will be revealed.
Based on the feedback I shall find out in what places I need to focus more and how I can
develop myself both personally as well as professionally. All these understandings will be
supported by the conceptual framework and theories of leadership.

Recent role:
In order to understand the scopes of leadership and find out what my style is I need to
focus on the experiences what I have already completed or faced. From the experience of real
working in a coffee shop I can understand whether I can be a good leader or not. Working in
a coffee shop is a part time work for me as I am a student coming from other country. Here I
have been working for last one year and balance in my study along with it. As I am a foreign
student I have faced several issues initially regarding the communication and understanding
the organizational culture in this country. My boss after two weeks found the accountability
and dependability factor in me and made me the supervisor of the other part time workers
from the foreign countries. This reveals that my boss had found some leadership qualities in
me and offered me this appraisal. As mentioned before while doing this work and balancing
my study in the university I have faced many issues starting from communication two
adaptation with the culture of this country. First of all I did not get any support from the

workers under me as there were server ego clash among us. They thought that I got extra
benefits from my manager and trying to subjugate them on that basis. All these over cause of
mine created issues so that I get demoted from my position. In order to solve this problem I
initiated to communicate with all of the co-workers along with those who actually trying to
the motivated me in my job. I found out time and communicated such a friendly manner that
we created a strong bond amongst us. This negotiation and convincing power in me have
supported me to become a successful leader in future.
Aspects of your leadership journey:
In discussing the experiences of leadership, I would have to go back to the
experiences when in my home country I used to manage some of the workers in my parents
company. There I had to you manage 11 employees working under my supervision. I was
responsible to keep them motivated and loyal to our company. In that case I followed the
transactional leadership style based on which I arranged for small rewards for the employees'
performances. Despite the fact that I was the class monitor in the school I could never
understand how I can perform better as a leader in the class. However when I started to
manage the employees and taking care of their wellbeing I have found that I have some
leadership qualities in me due to which the workers under me have been abiding by me step
in this regard I have gained a huge support from my parents who have always instigated me
to become a good leader who take care of his followers. My parents expect me to grow all the
skills needed for being a successful leader. This is why I have enrolled for learning
management in the university. These are the reasons why I have focused to flourish my
leadership traits so that the others can understand my points of view and follow them to
complete a task.

Results of the Gallup Strength:
As the Gall up test has found out that I have strategic learning focused analytical and
achieving skills (Kline, 2015). All of these are essential for the success of a leader. First of all
I need to grow analytical capabilities as found out in the test so that I can make decisions
after thinking the issues from different points of view. In that case I need to think about the
others related with this particular problem and find out such a solution which will not harm
the interest of the others. I am a learner which enables me to remain focused on updating my
skills true learning. I learn from different experiences as well as issues in life which can help
me to face any type of situation in the future. I try to analyses the theories I read and find out
the real life examples. Thus I can develop proper leadership skills within me.
I am a focused person this is why I try to you differentiate the priorities before I make
any decisions. There are several points of view of an incident which are capable to distract
me from the actual path (Cervone & Pervin, 2015). However I do not lose concentration from
the goal and follow the steps to reach the goal. Along with being focus I am a strategist. They
are different alternative ways to who worked out the problems but I only choose those which
I am best at. The test as found out I am a strategist person hence make several strategies to
solve all the issues before me. I can quickly analyses the situations and sort out which ways I
can go through stuck I never make decisions on the basis of emotion or empathy to the other
because these may affect the interest of the other stakeholders and it is not the way of
working like a leader (Borman, 2017).

The feedback from my classmate have helped me to understand the strengths and
weaknesses from the perception of the other person. until this time I used to analyses my own
strengths and weaknesses from my own perception which may be wrong at times but the
feedback of my classmate who knows me well have pointed out that I am a quick learner the

passion for learning has been identified by him also and he finds me a very focused person
who wants to grow in in the future as a leader (Antonakis & Day, 2017). I have a prominent
skills needed for being a leader who aims to who help the others through the knowledge
gained.
The person pointing out my strengths and weaknesses from his point of view has also
revealed that I am an organized person. Starting from organizing my own folders and things I
have the capability to organize difficult tasks in such a manner that disclose several steps to
reach the finish line quite easily. According to him the current leadership needs this type of
perception where the personal growth will be e supported by the growth of the others. My
classmate has also pointed out that I am a good communicator who can speak his mind quite
easily. I am capable to share my thoughts with the others and instigate them to follow my
direction. However they are weaknesses pointed out by my classmate which starts from
inability to remain in the spotlight. I am an introvert and shy person who do not want to who
show off the skills and capabilities. However it may be a negative factor which can keep my
followers away from me because most of them will not be understanding why they are
supporting my thoughts (Thompson & Glasø, 2015).
Implications of the feedback:
As pointed out by my classmate I am unable person who can balance study and work
simultaneously. Moreover I have learning capability which can help me to cope up with any
situation in the future. The position I am holding in the coffee shop also reveals that I can
adapt with the situation and manipulate it in my favor which is one of the best qualities of the
successful leaders. In addition to this I can also bring changes in my communication skills
staff in order to do so I can join the communication courses that will groom me to follow
steps for successful communication. I have understood that I need to follow this part of
communication to grow popularity and understand the importance of presenting myself. Also

I have to understand the importance of being Resilient to face any type of criticisms about the
decisions or actions I will be making in future. I have to learn the process of managing this
type of Criticism and manipulate such critics into my favour. As mentioned before I have
successfully brought all the people against me to support me in the situation.
Theory and conceptual frameworks:
Being a successful leader there are numerous theories and conceptual Framework.
Among all these the contingency theory and transformational theory I seem to be
incorporated in the process song my personal as well as professional growth (Dugan, 2017).
As revealed in the Gall up test, the trait Theory of leadership need to be incorporated
immediately in my personal and professional growth. The weaknesses I have discussed our
have revealed that I need to work more on the trait theory as my behavior and attitudes need
to be improved so that I can manipulate others to follow my leadership (Borman, 2017). This
trait Theory of leadership will be helping in understanding the need for learning and what
factors need to be avoided in my characteristics. Despite I have some inborn qualities of
leadership, I think I need to focus on the learning from the situation in more effective manner.
However I also found that I need to focus on the contingency theory of leadership where the
leaders make their decisions according to the change in situations or the patterns of changes
in the external and internal environment (Meuser et al., 2016). This will bring good result
connecting the analytical skills in me. I also need to work on the transactional leadership style
through which I can motivate others to follow my path. This will be only possible when I
myself will be motivated. In this competitive world of business I feel the Theory of
transformational leadership is also essential (Arena & Uhl-Bien, 2016). The leaders who have
transformational leadership style at the most successful one who make decisions collectively
and actively influence the followers to who reached the organizational goal within the desired
time (Thompson & Glasø, 2015).

Conclusion:
Therefore, it can be concluded that the leadership traits are not only the factors that
help the persons to became a successful leader but it is the combination of the theoretical
skills and the practical experience that he must be incorporating in the through gaining
knowledge about the personal straight and opportunities. The Gall up test is a tool that details
the strengths of the persons so that he or she can understand how effective he can be while
operating in the position of a leader. The feedback from the classmate also helped me to find
out in what aspect the personal growth is needed so that these have a positive impact on the
professional life. From the above analysis it has been understood that that I need to overcome
all the barriers of communication to grow popularity and understand the importance of
presenting myself before the stakeholders. The power and presence of mine will be revealing
how effective personality I have as a leader.
