Executive Summary
Leadership is an essential aspect of the organisation which help in managing and controlling
operational activities of the organisation. The assessment explores all essential leadership
theories and traits which help in enhancing personal development. In this report, I summarised
all the challenges which are faced by me, and I analysed all essential skills which are necessary
for me as a leader in the organisation. My main objective is to examine all lacking leadership
aspects in the form of feedback through which I can enhance my leadership skills.

Introduction
As a leader, I must perform by the job in an effective manner which will bring a positive result
for the organisation. I am currently working as a leader in ANZ Bank, which is one of the largest
financial institutions in Australia and has successfully engaged more than 40% of customers in
the market. Through my one of the colleague, I have received feedback for the activities in which
I am facing failure while performing leadership activities. Through this feedback, I have learned
that I have to work hard on my leadership skills, which would also help me in developing my
efficiency. In this report, I have summarised all the challenges which are faced by me, and I have
developed leadership approaches in orders to develop my personality. Aside to this, I have
summarised some my essential leadership skills which I have analysed through Clifton
Strengths. Further, in this report, I have a focus on all the leadership skills and traits which would
help in enhancing the performance of the organisation and help it in accomplishing objectives
timely (Yahaya, & Ebrahim, 2016).

The current role, responses and leadership challenges
Leadership is the appropriate action which is performed by a leader in the organisation for
managing and controlling operations and ineffectively accomplishing goals of company. As a
leader, I must analyse all the aspects which were required for maintaining effective control on
the operational activities of the business and help in managing the different task in a timely
manner. As a leader, I used to analyse how I can motivate my employees through which they can
enhance the efficiency of the bank in the market. As it is a common goal of every organisation to
enhance market growth by maintaining stronger sustainability and profitability within the
organisation (Yahaya, & Ebrahim, 2016). Aside to this, my leading job role is to focus on
communication behaviour in the organisation, which help me in determining the relationship
between employees and their managers (Turner & Baker, 2018). I used to focus on motivational
factors at the workplace through which I can maintain a better environment at workplace, which
always leads to a better result for the organisation. It is my responsibility to take every member
along with me, which will help in designing better growth and development of the organisation
and also enhance the personal development of employees. I always used to develop effective
methods which help in building employee morale at the workplace (Yahaya, & Ebrahim, 2016).
Working as a leader in a large organisation, I have to analyse that performing leadership task is
not easy. The leader has to examine all the aspects regularly, which help me in developing
approaches for the welfare of the organisation. As a leader, I have faced various challenges,
which have led to difficulties for me at the time of organising and managing operations within
the organisation. At the time of failing in managing and coordinating the activities organisation
faced challenges in accomplishing goals on time. To enhance my organising and managing
operations, I have to develop my skills, and I have to build my leadership traits in an effective
manner (Turner & Baker, 2018).

Key aspects of leadership theory
As from my childhood, I have leadership qualities and traits which help me in developing my
skills and enhance my leadership qualities. As a leader, I would always like to be responsible for
the activities which I performed in my childhood. In school, I used to be the monitor in my class,
and our head usually provides me with opportunities for managing and operating all the activities
(Turner & Baker, 2018). Later in college, I have analysed that I am quite mature in performing
leadership duties.
Along with this, my parents and my friend supported me for improving more leadership skills
through which I can become a good leader in the organisation. In my college life, I was
developing myself as a leader, but as a leader I had faced various challenges (Turner & Baker,
2018). With the help of critical thinking approaches, I have analysed how to think over the
situation and how to make effective decisions in an effective manner (Yahaya, & Ebrahim,
2016). Then, later on, I got the opportunity to perform as a leader in the ANZ bank. For the first
time, I had faced various difficulties in analysing the organisational culture and in managing
operating activities of the company (Marshall, 2018). Later on, I focused on leadership
approaches through which I have to analyse the situation in a critical manner and developed my
mindset accordingly (Carnes, Houghton & Ellison, 2015). Then I have understood all the aspects
of the company through which I have developed my leadership skills also in managing and
operating the leadership approaches and qualities. This journey has played a vital role in shining
my future and in increasing my personality traits (Marshall, 2018).

Results of Gallup Strength finder
As per the Gallup strength finder, I have analysed my leadership skills, and I was quite surprised
after examining the effect of Gallup strength finder. Through Gallup strength finder, I have
evaluated that I am a deliberate person which means I have quality in analysing the situation
very carefully and vigilantly while making effective decisions within the organisation. As the
main motive of every organisation is to accomplish goals in time for which its leader has to take
an effective decision-making process by analysing the situation in a careful manner. Further,
with the help of Gallup strength finder, I explained that I am Harmony in nature. This transfers
and engage positive energy at the workplace and enhances the productive relationship between
employees and managers. As a harmony in essence, I am making my efforts in accomplishing
the goals of my organisation (Marshall, 2018).
Further, I have analysed through Gallup strength finder that I have the quality to remain
consistent and committed towards my points. This help employees to follow exactly one goal
which helps in developing consistency and help the organisation to accomplish the task in a
timely manner. The consistency skills help me to behave in an exact manner as per the situation
(Carnes, Houghton & Ellison, 2015). Then, I have analysed that I have very responsible in
developing the efficiency of the organisation by improving the performance of employees by
providing them with proper training and development programmes (Higgs, & Dulewicz, 2016).
It helps me in delivering effective input result and enhance the efficiency of a financial
institution in an effective manner (Turner & Baker, 2018). As a leader, I have analysed through
Gallup strength finder that I have quite excellent relator skills which help me in developing
effective relations between employess and managers. Communication helps in developing team
coordination and enhance employee engagement within the organisation this help in
accomplishing goals of ANZ Bank in a timely manner.

Key feedback point on your current leadership style, capabilities,
effectiveness, interpersonal and social skills
While performing in the current company as a leader, I have analysed that I am failing in
achieving some leadership skill. My essential motive is to focus on my leadership skills through
which I can develop my interpersonal skills (Wakabi, 2016). As current leadership analysis I
have asked my colleagues who helped me in analysing the failure aspect in which I am lacking at
the time of performing leadership skills. He gave me feedback and suggest me to work on some
leadership activities which will develop my interpersonal skills (Turner & Baker, 2018). Through
his feedback, I had observed that I am currently facing a problem in managing and effectively
organising operational activities. Managing activities is the essential aspect of an organisation
which will help in developing the efficiency of the organisation. But lacking in leading
operations can reduce the ability of the organisation and will reduce the sustainability of the
company.
Further, organising the activity can be done by analysing the situation in an effective manner
(Carnes, Houghton & Ellison, 2015). I am facing in the investigating situation due to sudden
organisational changes due to which I am failing in making a practical decision. Further, I have
analysed that I am failing in understanding issues faced by employees in the organisation which
erode relationships between employee and manager. All of these aspects are affecting my
leadership skills (Turner & Baker, 2018).

Implications of the feedback and your reflection on its significance
My colleague helped me in analysing all the aspects of leadership skills in which I am facing
failures. My main motive is to develop my leadership skills by working hard on it. Foremost I
have to focus on my understanding skills which help me in analysing and understanding the
situations effectively. By developing understanding skills I can sense emotions of employee
which help in maintaining the productive environment at the workplace (Turner & Baker, 2018).
This feedback helped me in analysing that person should regularly improve its skills, which
would help him in enhancing his skills, whether he is a manager or leader. This feedback helped
me to interpret that I should work on my leadership skills, which would help in becoming a great

developing my leadership skills, I will surely perform my responsibility more effectively.

There are some leadership theories which help me in enhancing my leadership skill and help me
in managing all the aspects effectively. Essential leadership theories are a great man and
situational theory. These leadership theories help me in developing my leadership skills as
excellent man theory help me in emphasising different variables and assist in determining the
aspects. Through which I can manage and organise activities in an effective manner by
developing effective decisions making (Turner & Baker, 2018). By developing understanding
skills I can sense emotions of employee which help in maintaining the productive environment at
the workplace (Turner & Baker, 2018). This feedback helped me in analysing that person should
regularly improve its skills, which would help him in enhancing his skills, whether he is a
manager or leader.
Along with this, I have to focus on decision-making approaches which will help in
accomplishing target in a timely manner. Aside to this, situational theory helps me in analysing
the situation through which I can understand the emotions of employees and develop an effective
solution for their problems. The essential motive is to build employee satisfaction, which would
help in improving employee engagement and enhance the efficiency of the organisation (Carnes,
Houghton & Ellison, 2015).

Conclusion
It can be concluded from the report that leadership is playing an essential role and help in
managing and controlling all the aspects in an effective manner. Through this report, I have
analysed all those aspects in which I was failing failure in some leadership aspects. The feedback
I have received from my colleague has played an active role, and though I have to focus on
developing great man theory and situational theory.
