Introduction
A management capability is the approach to the management of an organisation, typically a
business organisation or firm which is based on the theory of firm as a collection of
capabilities. The main aim of this report is to understand the concept of management
capabilities (Pardey, 2016). The peer coaching plan is developed to improve the skills of
management as per the case. In this report, the case study of yahoo has been taken into
consideration in order to analyse the lack of skills of Management.
Case scenario
In this case, CEO sends the internal memo to an employee which is leaked around the world.
The employees of Yahoo are not allowed to do work from home. The CEO of the
organisation also mentioned in the policy that the person who still wants to do work from
home after this new policy is requested to resign their jobs. The communication of this policy
is sparked a strong negative reaction just because of poor communication constructed memo.
The employees took step and launched national conversation about the negative policy and
behaviour of CEO towards her employees. Marissa Mayer is the CEO of the company who
discusses the HR policies of the organisation and said that the best ideas come from in person
collaboration and that is also an office policy that was “wrongly perceived as industry
narrative”.
In this case, CEO is correct on her side but as per the poor communication skills of her it
faces the challenges to represent her thoughts in front of employees.

Lack of communication skills
As per the case study, it is observed that the CEO of Yahoo wants to gather the people to
enhance the skills and get the good ideas. But as per the poor constructed memo, it sparked
negative reaction among people. It is necessary for a leader to have strong communication
skills to influence the people and team. A strong communication skill of an individual helps
to influence the people to do the work. There are many issues arises due to lack of
communication in organisation such as conflicts, misunderstanding and many others (Gamil,
& Rahman, 2018).
Lack of cooperation
According to the case study, it is observed that the CEO does not cooperate with the
employees in order to achieve the success in the business. It is the responsibility of a leader to
behave politely with their employees and teach them all concepts and policy with patience. It
is observed the CEO of Yahoo, broke her silence and uses the negative phrases for people of
organisation which is so discouraging for employee (Chen, & Rybak, 2017).
Objectives to improve skills
It is necessary to develop the plan to improve the skills of CEO. The main aim of peer
coaching plan is to improve the skills of CEO which is poor and due to which the issues are
arises.

Conclusion
As per the above analysis, it is concluded that the CEO of Yahoo has poor communication
skills, and lack of cooperation skills. It has been seen that the employee faces the challenges
and perceived the message in a negative form. It is required for CEO that works as a leader to
influence the team to work together and solving the problems. The lack of communication
and lack of cooperation skills increases the issues for the organisation as the employees
perceives it in a negative form. The CEO has to enhance their skills by developing the plan
in order to attain the success. The CEO has to follow the schedule as per the developing plan
so that he can improve his skills.
