1ARTICLE REVIEW
I found it interesting to learn that there are various unorthodox approaches to learning
more about the Christian faith than simply going to church and reading the Bible. The
dialogue approach is a new strategy of learning that asks faculty in charge of educating a
group of individuals to actively use dialogue and critical thinking to achieve the convergence
of both biblical texts and academic knowledge (Li et al., 2016). Existing methods in relation
to the integration of faith, this dialogue approach proves to be more beneficial.
The main focus of the paper is to put focus on the value of the “Dialogue Approach”
in the development of the methods in the Christian faith and execute a successful plan to host
a one-day conference series to develop this theory. In that purpose, the author explains into
detail the history of the inception of the approach, along with suggestions on how one can
develop skills to adopt this approach into their teaching method.
This concept brings forward the importance of dialogue, and addresses its immense
capability to assisting individuals in learning how to think, be reasonable and be able to make
more moral decisions in their life. This paper proves that dialogue is definitely one of the best
ways for individuals to learn better habits of thinking critically. The process of dialogue
deepens the understanding of an individual of the position that others stand at in relation to
any conflicts that may exist in between.
The approach will teach an individual how they should think in terms that does not
allow them to steer their thinking with accordance to Christian beliefs. Allowing one’s mind
to think critically in a manner that will enhance their personal values will get the individuals
thinking on a much deeper level, and not just skimming the surface of information (Ajjawi &
Boud, 2017). The author holding the conference will be able to create a certain climate of
trust within the individuals attending it, and this will improve the learning environment and
ensure that the students feel enriched.
