This project is based on addressing the contemporary issues which are faced by
Meetings, Incentive, Conference Exhibition industry while implementing corporate
social responsibility and sustainability within business. This project is mainly
categorised into two part. The first part of the report includes literature review on the
contemporary green issues in relation to MICE industry. The second part of the report
includes written package proposal which includes different elements such as rationale
and background of the conference, conference objectives, justification for the venue
and destination selection, operational analysis, proposed budget, conference
promotion, conference schedule, internal analysis, external analysis and
recommendation.

Contemporary environment or green issues are described as harmful effects to the planet as
well as its natural systems due to the certain actions of humans. It also includes global
environmental risks such as flooding, global warming, mudslides as well as other natural
hazards exacerbated by the activities of human. MICE sector is expressed as Meetings,
Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions. It is a tourism business that aimed to bring the top
professionals together from every sector in an enhanced and tailored hospitality setting.

environmental issues. It also be considered as the most high-profiling issues that are
faced by the world. Increasing concentrations of carbon dioxide in the atmospheres
causes changes in climate.

Rationale and Background of the conference: This project is chosen in order to
provide more detailed information related to MICE industry and the issues which are
faced by the industry in order to implement corporate social responsibility and green
practices. Within this report, a conference is organised for World Association of Travel
agencies.
Conference Objectives: There are various objectives of conducting the conference so
that international audience, government representative and other personnel can
understand the reason behind conducting the conference (Muhammad and et. al., 2020).
The conference is generally organised for World Association of Travel agencies.

Justification for the venue and destination selection: The venue which is selected for
conducting the conference is The O2 Arena which is also known O2. It is a indoor arena
which is in the centre of the O2 entertainment complex on the Greenwich Peninsula in
London.
Operational analysis: Operational activity mainly includes the process of planning,
executing and managing the event. The operational analysis includes the services which
are offered within the conference such as catering, transport, accommodation option and
many other services. Within the conference, the catering service is provided to the
international guest so that they can enjoy the meal, beverages and snacks which will be
prepared and served in the pleasant and different surroundings (Ahn and Back, 2018).

Conference promotion: In order to conduct the event in successful manner, it is
important for event organiser to promote the event so that it reaches to large number of
audience and attracts them towards the event. There are various ways which is used by
the event organiser in order to promote the event such as social media, sponsors, email
campaigns and creating short videos.

Internal and External analysis: Internal analysis mainly includes the people who
contribute their best efforts in making event successful. Event organiser is the internal
member which is involved in making conference event successful by attracting more and
more number of international audiences. They are responsible for organising and
managing the event in appropriate manner (Chilufya, Hughes and Scheyvens, 2019).
Recommendation: From the above analyses, it has been concluded that there are many
contemporary environmental issues are faced by the MICE sector. It affects them in
order to provide better service to their customers. There are several objectives of the
World Association of Travel Agencies that makes them in order to organise conference.

productivity of the travel companies. It is necessary for organistaion to implement the
CSR activities and green practices in order to reduce the negative impact on the
