Women centred care is a concept which is related holistic care of the women. Midwifery
practices are related to care of the women when they are pregnant, at the time of childbirth and
even in early parenting years. They educate the women in living a healthy life by adopting
better schedules and lifestyle choices (Chapman and Charles, 2018). The women centred care
term is generally used to describe the philosophy related to the maternity care in which the
social, economic, spiritual, cultural and physical needs are identified and considered. The
fundamental principles which these concept focus upon are the birth of the child and the tenure
of the pregnancy of the women. The midwifery practices offer various benefits to women by
developing a better partnership with them. Due to this the continuity of the care and the
partnership a professional friendship is developed among them which sure that better care is
provided to the women. This reduces chance of any mis-happening and complexity of needs at

arrangement which may require at the time of giving birth to the baby. As the midwives be in
touch with the women throughout so they give them all the necessary education regarding the
process so that they do not face and issues. Also they provides them various guidance such as
better diet, proper exercises, regular checkups and many more with the help of which they ensure
goods health of both the baby and the mother. It reduces the intervention rates. In addition to
this, the partnership is developed among the two which offers mental peace and better cares to
the women in each and every aspect. But the women who are not centred faces various issues at
the time of giving birth to the baby and also it has impact on the health of the women and the
child, also the rate of intervention increases in such cases which increases risk for them
(Anderson, 2016).

It is concluded from the above report that it is important to ensure continuity of care of the
women as with this the better health and chance of various issues can be reduced efficiently and
it is supported by the midwifery practices. It is identified that with the help of women centred
need the unique need of the women can be considered along with their expectations as well as
aspiration. The physical, social, cultural and spiritual needs can be addressed so that they can
better care can be ensured for both the women and the child.
