Reflection on Physiology Course: Midwifery and Labor Processes

This assignment presents a student's reflection on a physiology course focused on childbearing and midwifery. The student initially anticipated learning new techniques for labor and delivery and was excited about the course content. REFLECTION 1
Physiology can be described as the study of normal function within living creatures. My course
name is the physiology basis of childbearing. This summary will highlight my reflection before
starting the horse and after attending the class of psychology where my specialty is nursing of
midwifery.
Before
Before attending my physiology class and getting to know about my physiology teacher, I was
quite excited to meet my teacher. I expected that I would learn something new and informative
regarding meet by FY practices as well as the techniques towards the improvement of my
knowledge and skills regarding delivery and labor within the nursing practices. I anticipated that
I will get to learn regarding the healthcare profession of the midwife. Before joining my
physiology class I expected that the teacher of the class will inform about the training and
education for a midwife linking with the midwife free first year of practice program which is a
compulsory National program. In my first meeting with doctor Julianna, I was very much excited
to attend the class as she told me about the topics that we will be learning in the class. Apart
from all these factors, I was not agreed regarding the learning style of the physiology classroom
since the teacher told that the classes will be conducted through the learning style of the
flowchart. I did not like this approach of teaching in the classroom since I do not like a
flowchart. I have recently learned to use PowerPoint presentations and seek to adopt the
knowledge that the teacher will discuss and learn truly the means of PowerPoint presentation and
not flow chart. Another reason for this is that, I am not quite comfortable and sure about the
learning process through the flow chart.
After
My psychology class was quite interesting. The courses as well as my psychology teacher taught
me the importance of flowchart and learning through the flowchart. Throughout the class, I
learned how powerful the tool of the flowchart can be. I realized and learned in the classroom
that flowcharts are beneficial towards understanding the sequence of the process, understanding
the several stages of a process as well as the relationship among different stages. Besides this
flowchart is a better way was communicating the logic of a system as well as towards all the
challenges on the concerns which enables it to be a very powerful tool in the process of learning.
Effective coordination, visual clarity and problem-solving are some of the benefits of the

flowchart which I realized after the class. The teacher in the class stated how flowchart is much
more than a process that brings up more data and information and enabling a link among it. I
found the tool to be beneficial towards the understanding of the teachings of psychology
regarding the working pattern of the reproductive process as well as support during the delivery.
Throughout, I found this psychology class as extremely helpful towards the development of my
knowledge of midwifery practices in nursing.
