1ARTICLE ANALYSIS
The aim of this essay is to discuss the responsibilities of the business educators in guiding
the millennials to develop communication skills that perfectly matches the requirements of the
organizations. The millennials have some common features such as they are multitaskers and
able to work in team. They are over confident and have high expectations. They enjoy structure
and well-defined policies while working in the organization. However, the millennials are
technology inseparable and try to solve any type of issues through the guidance of technology.
Some negative aspects of these millennials are their tendency of job hopping which questions
their loyalty by diminishing the desire of the employers to invest on them.
These are the reasons why the educators need to understand the new workplace
requirements of the millennials. As they are social learners, they can easily understand the
importance of well-developed communication skills to maintain extensive diversity. Style typing
and style flexing are important in this aspect as these helps them to understand the
communication style of their own and of the others (Hartman and McCambridge). These will
help them to develop communication relationship. The educators must help them to become
more audience focused rather than be a technology focused. This will manipulate the observable
and identifiable behavior of the millennials. Through active listening and audience analysis, the
millennials will be able to develop their interpersonal skills. Therefore, it can be concluded that
the millennials must use multiple layers of communication styles which is essential for the
business in recent times.
