2. According to the given article, Popova (2014), highlighted that the research taken up by
Carol Dweck shows that even small and simple changes that a person brings into oneself, has a
profound impact of the lives of the people (Popova 2014). The research by Dweck highlights that
there are two mindsets of people around the world. The people having the “fixed” mindset ensure
success, by avoiding failure in an intelligent way, thriving towards excellence (Popova 2014).
However, people with the “growth” mindset takes up various challenges and accepts failure,
working even more diligently.
In order to incorporate the “growth” mindset in me, I need to change my outlook of
success. I need to accept challenges and take up failure as a stepping-stone towards my success.
This will help me to have a positive outlook towards life. Moreover, I will be inspired to work
more diligently, with higher perseverance, such that I am able to achieve goal that I have set. The
change in the outlook of success will help me overcome my failures more easily and embrace
challenges to achieve success (Popova 2014). With each failure, I will be able to device myself
with more qualities, that will ensure the path of my success. The change in my mind-set from the
“fixed” mindset to the “growth” mindset, will help me take my challenges rather than avoiding
it. It will also ensure that I refrain from giving up easily and persist to achieve my goals. Thus, a
slight change will have a significant impact on my life.
