Issue at Mind Tree
Mind Tree was the first Indian IT firm that had business in the sector of IT, R & D,
testing, knowledge service, product engineering, technical support, infrastructure
management and wireless products. Mind Tree had good practice in relation to project
management but they still had to endure considerable amount of fire fighting. The issue in
Mind Tree was owing to the fact that importance was laid on the process and not on the
aspect of knowledge along with experts. Knowledge Management can help a company in the
process of creation and sharing of knowledge in an organisation. The multidisciplinary
approach of knowledge management being used effectively by Mind Tree can achieve the
organisational objectives of Mind Tree. Mind Tree was not being able to get detailed
specifications when they had to deliver to the multiple geographies. The lack of stimulation
in relation to systematic innovation was a barrier in the path of the organizational progress at
Mind Tree. The knowledge management at Mind Tree does not affect the entire business and
hence improving on these aspects can help the organization in rising above their competitors.
There were issues related to project management at Mind Tree as the people were depended
on each other that created barrier in the path of progress of the organization. Knowledge
continuity was another area in which Mind Tree had to face problems and this problem arose
when the individuals in the organisation changed the assignments (Becerra-Fernandez and
Sabherwal 2014). The necessity of knowledge management at Mind Tree was owing to the
fact that it can act as a strategic initiative that can help in the aspect of socialization (Geisler
and Wickramasinghe 2015). The people at Mind Tree not being able to channel their position
acted like a barrier in the path of Mind Tree. The Knowledge Management at Mind Tree has
not been successful in areas related to customer acquisition and sales.

Mind Tree was facing issue owing to the fact that importance was laid on process and
not on knowledge. The employees faced issues related to project management because the
people in the organization relied on each other. Mind Tree would provide facility to the
employees at Mind Tree of pursuing a mini MBA program that can help in strengthening the
knowledge of the employees of an organization. People in the top hierarchical level of
Knowledge Management would have to take up different roles and they would have to build
one-to-one relation with CEO of new business that can help the organization in moving ahead
of the competitors. This can help Mind Tree in getting specifications in the event of
delivering to multiple geographies. Mind Tree can streamline process of discovery of
knowledge and establish various policies that can help the organization in relation to
knowledge sharing (Donate and de Pablo 2015). This can help the organization in solving the
issue of dependence that can make the employees of Mind Tree in working in a more
independent manner. The employees at Mind Tree working independently can help in
stimulating the aspect of creative thinking in the employees that can pave the path for
progress of the organization. Creativity should be encouraged and rewarded at Mind Tree that
can help the organization in being successful. There should be knowledge community at
Mind Tree that is self-organized that can help the company in the issues related to
Knowledge Management (Dayan, Heisig and Matos 2017). The organization can make use of
software tools that can help it in the promotion of knowledge exchange. The software tools
will be of great use for Mind Tree in bringing about innovation that would act as a source
pertaining to competitive advantage. The CLASS (caring, learning, achieving, sharing along
with social responsibility) model should be implemented at Mind Tree that can help in
developing the employees of the organization. The CLASS model can help in emphasizing
innovation along with creativity in organization that can give rise to high performance of the
