ESSAY
As a result of undergoing the mini project workshops, I underwent a number of
experiences, some of which enabled me to learn something new while others helped me in
developing new skill set. The workshops provided assistance to me in developing professional
skills which led towards the development of my employability. One of the primary skills that
could be learned as a result of going through such mini project workshops was acknowledged to
be leadership skills (Pârvu, Ipate and Mitran, 2014). This is because my supervisor headed the
responsibility of managing all the things for that workshop to me looking upon my strong ability
to lead activities and things. Thus, I leveraged my strong communication and leadership skills to
set networking with all those individuals who could ensure the effective execution of mini
project workshops. Leadership skill is an important part of professional world as it enables an
individual to leverage the ability of persuading the behavioural characteristics as well as conduct
of other individuals to get things done in the favour of the company (Deeley, 2014). The
development and enhancement of leadership enabled me to carry out professional development,
thereby paving way for the development of my employability.
Yet another skill that I inculcated within me as a result of going through the mini project
workshops was the incorporation of time management skills. These workshops were taking place
in time slots and had to be attended by managing our time in an effective manner. Thus, I
managed my other priorities in a manner such that I did not miss any of the sessions of the mini
project workshops. This enabled me to enhance my time management skills which are regarded
to be quite essential in context of the corporate world. Time management skills will be handy for
me in my employment as I will be given a number of tasks in the workplace settings which
would have to be completed simultaneously within the given time frame. By leveraging this skill,
an individual can easily prioritise the tasks in accordance with their significance in the business
context (Gbadamosi and et. al., 2015). Thus, by paying attention to the most important tasks first,
I will be able to manage my time and ensure the accomplishment of all the business tasks within
due course of time.
Some of the sessions of the mini project workshops had to be carried out within small
groups. This enabled me to develop skills like problem solving, oral communication and
collaborative working. Within the employment settings, an individual is exposed to a number of
instances whereby they have to work on a project in a group (Kulkarni and Chachadi, 2014).

Thus, in those instances, these skills learned as a result of undergoing mini project workshops
will assist me in working with my team members in an effective manner. This implies the timely
completion of group tasks to attain the predefined team goals and objectives within a timely
manner.
