2MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM
Introduction
Management information system is called as MIS and it can be described as the study of
people, technology and organization the relationship that exists between them. The management
information system helps the companies to comprehend the maximum amount of advantage from
its investment in business processes, personnel and equipment. MIS also focuses on the
provision provided by technology (Shah 2014.).
Application of the management information system
The different types of the information system that can be used for the business
management are the transaction processing system, executive support system, decision support
system, management information system (Laudon and Laudon 2016). The MIS can be used as a
manufacturing information system supports the operation/production functions and includes all
the actions that depend on the control and the planning of the different type of the processes
pertaining to services and goods. The MIS can be used as a health management information
system and it is one of the 6 major parts that are vital in the strengthening of the health system.
The health management information system can be designated as a data collection system that
are specifically planned for the purpose of management and planning and making decision in the
organization and health services. MIS can be used as an education information management
system and the it can be considered as a data repository with the capability of not only gathering
data but also organizing and storing of the data as well. It also helps in analysing and processing
the data and helps in generation of reports from it. it can be used to monitor the performance of
the education programs managed and offered by the institute (Dias and Diniz 2014).

3MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM
SAP R/3 software application
SAP R/3 can be described as an information system which is used widely and it has been
designed to coordinate the all types of activities, information and resources for the successful
completion of the business process like the production planning, human resource management,
billing, order fulfilment. SAP R/3 is one of the best application because it uses the best scanning
techniques that are combined with the data science that are of the advanced quality for the
monitoring the market shares if 5000 plus technology products. It includes the Enterprise
resource planning. SAP R/3 is used by a total of 18,526 companies and it is most widely used in
computer software industry and majorly in United States (Hejazi, Halpin and Biggs 2014,).
AI and knowledge management
Knowledge management can be described as a process of retaining intellectual capital,
storing and capturing of the intellectual capital from he employees and this allows the other users
to use by the employees. Sophisticated knowledge management software helps in tracking all the
processes, document employee use, data, workflows, and processes. Therefore, when the
organization continues to grow, it becomes hard for the company to process large amounts of
organizational knowledge. However, the large amounts of data become hard to deal with and it
does not play any role in improving decision making (Wu, Chen and Olson, 2014). This is the
place where the artificial intelligence and its cognitive computing comes into play. The AI can
enable and help in the needs of the knowledge management and it includes the employee
engagement/enhancing customer, data analysis and automation. The benefits of combining the
KM with the AI are: tapping into the historical data and new data so as to improve the real time
decision making; creation of accessible ways and smarter ways of presenting information and its
usage across the enterprise; enabling the users to seek for the smart new workflows, correlate

industry trends, and actionable intelligence; if the user is unable to find an answer that they are
searching, the AI can effectively direct the user to a different source which is located internally;
predictive and smarter search capabilities and it will help the users to locate information quickly
(Becerra-Fernandez and Sabherwal 2014).
Monitoring employee online behaviour or activity
Employees must be aware of the fact that the device provided by the company is entirely
the company's device and the employer has the right to monitor the employees and monitoring
even includes outside the working hours. It is rightful to monitor the employees because the it is
the right of the employer. The employer that is paying the employee to do a job also has the right
and need to be protected and in the modern time it is the need and norm of the decade. The other
reason is that the it is easy for the employees to get distracted due to a number of the online
channels and it includes the news feeds, sports, YouTube videos, internal email banter and
private emails. therefore, it is important to mention that it can result into a loss of staff
productivity and loss of focus (El Ouirdi et al. 2015).
I will be spying the online behaviour of the employees because the employees during
their working hours must focus only on their work without getting distracted and getting drifted
away from the target and the respective productivity of the day.
In one of the landmark cases named 'Snooper Charter' for the employees. The European
court of the Human Rights have highlighted that the bosses are allowed to go through the
personal messages through the work related devices (Maule-ffinch 2015). If I had been the leader
of that specific company where an employee has been caught for misconduct, then such an
employee can be warned to not do any such activity or else it will lead to termination.

5MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM
Conclusion
The study ca be concluded by highlighting that, management information system is one
of the best ways of managing the manufacturing, medical and education systems. It is vital to
remind that the AI systems when combined with the knowledge management can effectively lead
to an effective management strategy and decision making.
