Introduction
Information system and its relationship with organization and decision making have a
core concern with the ground of information system. According to the study, one of the
objectives of information system is to help the leaders in decision making by providing proper
and time based data that guide them to make ideal decision even in any turbulent situation.
According to the procedural definition of information system, it can be said that, it is a support
system for the organization in the field of decision making (Ginting et al. 2017). Well described
computer science is helping to evolve new area based on science in the similar domain. In this
paper, the contribution of information system in decision making will be discussed with related
theories and concepts.
Discussion
In this regard, it is worth mentioning that the concept of managerial information system is
based on the key factor of organizational success. It provides insights to the manager in the fields
of regular operations. The different level of management information system (MIS) will help to
understand the different types of role MIS plays in the organization (Jankowski 1995). As per the
name suggest it comprises of three different entities including management, information, and
systems. It is one of the systems that are one of the few information systems used in the recent
business. As mentioned in the workshop 2 the management of information system can lead to
failure also. Hence, according this paper will mention the discussed variance of management of
information system from business perspective according to the discussion of the workshops
(Computerworld 2020).

Transaction processing system
This is the system that has been curate to collect, store, and store transactions that generate in
the daily operation of the business organization. According to the study guide of chapter 1 the
system has provided with the control to cancel or modify any transactions that have already
made in the past according to the requirement (Uçaktürk and Villard 2013). It is also known as
computer-based information system (CBIS) in which the hardware, software, databases, and
telecommunications are involved. Telecommunication has a greater connection with the World
Wide Web or www. In computer-based information system personnel are the most important
element. Hence, the field of business management improves the way of decision making system
with the incorporation of artificial intelligence or robotics as mentioned in the workshop.
Decision support system
This information system is made to provide assistance in the activities assigned to the
decision makers. It is done through the generation of statistical projection from the analyzed
data. It does not nullifies the perception of the managers, however, it only provide improvisation
to their judgments (Kiberu et al. 2014). Decision support system only compiles the information
from various sources with the aim to aid the decision making. For instance, computer supported
co-operative work, group decision support system, and financial planning system belong to this
group of information management system. The power point presentation provided in the
workshop reflect three levels of management that required decision making including top
management, middle management, and entry level management. All the levels equally require
the assistance of information system to improve the decision making support.

Executive support system (ESS)
It is also termed as executive information system. This is considered as a tool to report the
enterprise-wide data to the higher executives (Amuna, Shobaki and Naser 2017). It is the
specialized DSS that incorporates the use of hardware, software, personnel, and data procedures
for assisting the higher executives existing in the business organization. It supports the decision
making of the participants of board of directions who are the core responsible members to the
stockholders. Hence, this information system is only purposefully created to help the higher-level
leaders to make the decisions properly. The workshop has provided an example of entity
relationship which is a technique to maintain balance between the world business and
information technology hand in hand.
Management information system
According to chapter four, this is the most important layer of information system that
functions with collaboration of people, software, database, and procedures that help to provide
regular information to the leaders and the decision makers. The only focused aspect of this
system is operational efficiency. It provides standard data to the managers through the TPS and
ERP (Alyoubi 2015). For example, process control system, human resource management system,
marketing and sales management system, inventory control system, enterprise resource planning
system all belong to the activities of management information system.
Conclusion
As a conclusion, it can be said that the role of management information system has
multiple dimensions in the business. The most important role it plays is in the field of decision
making with all sorts of decision making systems. It provides readily information to the decision
