Report
AI Summary
This report is a peer assessment of a student's work on a data modeling and database design assignment for the MIS602 course. The assessment reviews the student's understanding of data objects, attributes, and the use of Excel spreadsheets in database design. The report highlights the student's strengths, such as the clear explanation of concepts and the comparison between Excel and database management tools. However, it also identifies areas for improvement, including the limited number of attributes used, the lack of highlighting changes in the spreadsheets, and the absence of references. The assessment offers suggestions for improvement, such as proofreading for spelling mistakes and including in-text references. The report concludes by recommending additional readings to enhance the student's understanding of data and data attributes. The assessment provides constructive feedback to help the student improve their data modeling and database design skills.

1DATA MODELLING AND DATABASE DESIGN
Suitability of the data objects and attributes as an input for database design
and the summary document
After reviewing the paper of Abdul, I have noted certain things that he have mentioned in
his assessment. Abdul has written his overall experience in the assignment and mentioned all the
points he have learnt from this assessment. Abdul has clearly mentioned the definition of excel
sheets and provided the concept of database in the summary report. Abdul has mentioned his
experience of learning through excel spreadsheets and has provided a clear idea about the
comparison between excel data sheets and database management tools. He has also mentioned
proper explanation with examples and thus has written his experience of learning very clearly in
the summary report.
For the spreadsheets, I would like to state that he has created four different spreadsheets
for the four version and mentioned attributes and rows in the excel sheets. Abdul has taken four
different column of attributes form the case study that was provided and has mentioned 30 rows
of data for the four columns he has included in the version 1 of the spreadsheets. Similarly he has
designed version 2, version 3, and version 4 of the spreadsheet. He has answered all the question
that was mentioned in the requirement file and has performed all the activities that was
mentioned in different versions of the spreadsheets.
Improvement on data objects and attributes in future
After viewing the assessment that Abdul has submitted, I have many things to say about
the assessment carried out by him. As per view, the summary of the report was all good, but I
found many problems in spreadsheets that he has designed. As per my view he has added too less
attributes for the case study that was provided in the assessment. There should be attributes for

students, course details and staffs assigned differently and there should have been more than one
attribute for all the entities. Secondly, I would like to point out that in the version 2 of the
spreadsheet, Abdul has updated two rows of data and has added 5 more rows of data in the
spreadsheet, but have not highlighted that in the sheet. He should have highlighted those in the
sheet so that it would have been easily identifiable. Thirdly in version 3, he has added two new
attributes as columns as per the question but has not added data in the new attributes. Moreover,
he has not mentioned whose contact number and whose address has been included in the sheet.
Again in the version 4 sheet, the changes in the data was not highlighted. There are also some
spelling mistakes in the sheets.
Useful readings the other student may peruse for developing understanding of
data and data attributes
I would like to recommend Abdul to have proofread the solution once before submitting
it. All the spelling mistakes would have been easily rectified if he would have proofread the
solution once. He should also have mentioned references and in text them in the solution from
where he has learned about spreadsheets and database. This would have provided him the
opportunity to score more marks.
