Advantages of Mission for Companies
A mission statement is used by the companies for defining their organization, its reason for
existence, the products and services offered, geographic location of operations and identifying
the primary customers (Campbell & Tawadey, 2016).
Provides directions- The mission provides direction towards the right path which assists the
company in effective decision-making. Without a mission, the companies struggle while
planning for the future and making decisions in this regard (Hamel, 2018).
Clear purpose- mission assists the companies in eliminating the potential ambiguities that may
threaten the existence of the business. It performs the role of a motivational tool and increases
the productivity and employee satisfaction.
Defines Relationships- the mission helps in shaping philosophy of the company towards its
clients and customers. It defines the target customers of the company along with the manner of
formulating plans for the purpose of meeting the needs of the customers (Quain, 2017).

educational environment for the purpose of preparing future leaders. It must also involve the
purpose of producing high caliber graduates such that the objective of becoming a world-class
education institution working for the betterment of the people in the region can be achieved.
Therefore, it can be concluded that the mission is advantageous for the companies as well as
UAE’s private universities as it provides clear purpose and directions for the purpose of
achieving the ultimate vision. Its proper linkage with the goals and objectives will depend upon
the type of business the organization operates in.
