ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE
The paper intends to look at the definition of mission statement, vision statement, and
culture of the Coastal Medical Center. The paper emphasizes upon how the mission statement
of this medical center longs for achieving the desirable target that is contained in the vision
statement. The paper focuses on the prevalent culture of the Coastal Medical Center that
reflects how the organization is performing.
The mission statement of a company reflects what the company looks forward to
deliver while the vision statement of the company is indicative of what position the company
wants to reach in the future (Bowen, 2018). The latter incorporates the mission statement of
the company by which it implements its missions to fulfill its target. The mission statement of
the Coastal Medical Center is to provide better health to the patients, taking better care of the
patients at a possibly lower cost that reflects the intention of the company to identify and
recognize the customer’s needs and to serve them accordingly. The vision statement of the
Coastal Medical Center is to achieve its sustainable outcomes through lowering the cost to
provide best of the medical facilities to the patients by taking care in a better way. The culture
reflects how the company is working and what kind of organizational behavior is prevalent
inside the organization, whether the employees are satisfied or not and the patients are
satisfied with the service or not (Calciolari, Prenestini & Lega, 2018).
The nature of the organization, the scale of operations of the company, the industry it
is operating in and the intention of the company are the factors that are incorporated to make
the mission statement and vision statement (Gulati et al., 2016). Coastal Medical Center is a
non-profitable, large scale company that intends to deliver its clients with the best possible
service in the healthcare sector. Therefore the current mission statement and vision statement
are justifiably serving its customers.

ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE
An instance of the assessment of an organization’s culture would be Toyota that has
TPS that incorporates three ideas of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and agile
operations in order to perform better than previous stage.
The mission statement and vision statement of a company help to estimate where the
company current is and where the company aims to reach in the future. Analyzing the culture
of the Coastal Medical Center it can be said that the healthcare organization is not only
serving its clients but also taking care of the employees so that the company progresses in a
positive way (Ali, 2017). The strategy that must be implemented should encompass the idea
of mission statement and vision statement must incorporate all the ideas of both the
statements. A clothing company will not adapt the same strategy as the Coastal Medical
Center because both their intentions, scales and natures are different. Therefore what a
company intends to do and where it wishes to reach are the deciding factors of strategic
planning of a company.
Therefore it can be concluded that the mission statement, vision statement and culture
of the healthcare organization seeks to decide what strategies should be implemented to
achieve the target.
