VIT MITS4001 Research Study: Information System Outsourcing

This report is a research study on Information System (IS) outsourcing, focusing on its benefits and drawbacks. The study begins with an abstract defining outsourcing and its role in business efficiency, followed by a literature survey to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of IS outsourcing. The research employs qualitative research design, a secondary data collection method, and descriptive content analysis to evaluate the impact of IS outsourcing. Key findings include improved efficiency, reduced costs, increased system reliability, but also potential security issues, reduced data confidentiality, and a possible loss of business knowledge. The study concludes that while IS outsourcing can be effective, companies must prioritize security and privacy to protect sensitive data from cyber threats.
