1ANSWER TO QUESTION ON MLA FORMAT
The MLA format is one of the most widely used formats for editing and presenting
academic papers, assignments, and dissertations. This section particularly focuses on
providing examples for citing the various sources that have been used in the research
project (Faigley). The focus is initially on the need to create a list of the references that
shall be produced at the end of the work as Work Cited page.
This is followed by the methods of quoting as well as citing a source (in-text) by
following the MLA format. The next section discusses the various ways to in-text
paraphrased work, summary, and lastly long quotations. Various samples of in-text
citations have been provided for sources in general (Faigley). There are also samples of
in-text citations for sources that are specific such as one page source, online sources (web
pages, podcasts, tweets, social media posts, videos, blogs, along with other multimedia
sources). Other examples include time-based media, anthologies that have been edited,
works that have been published in more than one volumes, poems, dramas, etc. that are
categorized as classics. Sacred texts have also been included as an example for being
referenced and in-texted (Faigley).
The page that follow include the elements that are considered to be the base of the MLA
style of formatting such as Author, Title of Source, Title of Container, other contributors,
version, number, publisher, publication, date of publication, and the location of
publication (Faigley). These elements are invariable, irrespective of them being online
