Career development refers to the state where an individual set his career in a particular field. In
the career development process an individual acquires various skills and learning reading that subject so
that he can gain excellence. These learning and skill development would help a person in attaining the job

INTRODUCTION
Career development refers to the state where an individual set his career in a particular field. In
the career development process an individual acquires various skills and learning reading that subject so
that he can gain excellence. These learning and skill development would help a person in attaining the job

in that field of work. There are complementary things which helps in career development and in getting
employability. These may include CV's, networking, personal branding and so on. This report discusses
about importance and strategy tips regarding networking, personal branding and Curriculum Vitae. Apart
from this, report also discusses the reflection upon the results obtained from personality test. This
personality test helps an individual in knowing themselves so that they can evaluate them on various
grounds so that they can bring the development accordingly. This enables the people in making a positive
change in their personality that directly contributes in their employability.
Career development & employability
Skills and knowledge is a must when an individual wants to pursue to a particular field of work.
The acquisition of these skills and learning will help him in getting a job. Apart from these skills and
knowledge there are other things also that goes in complementary to the employability. These things may
includes:
Personal Branding: Personal branding is a process in which an individual work in himself to create
a positive reputation in society. These personal branding is very much essential for any individual it helps
in influencing the people around you or the people who came in contact with you. Having a good
personality adds on more opportunities to an individual. Like it brings advancement in the career
opportunities and development. Having a positive personality differentiate an individual from the crowd
or other competitors (Savolainen, 2020). In the terms of employability a good personal branding helps in
attracting the employees or the interviewer. Personal branding will create an aura through which the
people would get attract. It is also to take a stand upon the principles and the practices which an
individual stands upon the most. Although building up this factor in oneself would be a bit time
consuming process but surely it will provide the long term benefits to an individual. In the terms of
employability it has the power to make and break various kind of opportunities. An individual can build a
positive and influencing personal brand through analysing and identifying the field in which he wants to
pursue further, evaluate your personality and personal traits, match it with your current personality image
and at last measures the differences. Measuring of differences will help in knowing about the gap and
then taking the corrective actions to bridge that gap. This will help an individual in getting more close to
his personal branding goal.
Networking: It is an informal social setting in which the an individual make the connections with
other people. Making the connection is very much helpful for any person as they might proves to be a
great help for that individual. These networks can perform help in the field of career development and
employability by providing the recommendations for the job, making some arrangements in performing
some work or might can help in providing more knowledge and information about a particular topic. For
example if a person is working in a very big MNC and you have made a good network or connect with
him, this might be possible that this individual would help in getting the employability in his company.
These kinds of favours and opportunities can be well grab through networking. A person build a good

and the like about a person. Through the CV the job role and profiles can be clearly get understand by the
reader or interviewer. The HR department in the initial stage sees the CV to know about that if a person is
capable for the profile or not. If the CV is attractive and the HR thinks that it is suitable for the profile
then further steps or progress takes place. An individual can build a attract CV by including only the
necessary information and data in an effective manner. The CV must be clear that it does not create any
sort of confusion in another person's mind (Torkkeli and Ivanova-Gongne, 2020).
Reflection
I have performed a test in relation to evaluate my personality. This test consists of various MCQ's
which have the situational questions. The evaluation is done on the answers provided by that individual.
The major purpose to perform that test is to evaluate the true type of personality I have and then compare
it with the type of personalities which is required by my career dreams and goals. The test provides the
results on mainly 5 grounds and these are Extraversion, Agreeableness, emotional stability,
conscientiousness and openness (Ziegler, Horstmann and Ziegler, 2019). Extraversion is a type of
personality in which the individual enjoys being with people. He likes to present in parties, want to
around people, talk to them and etc. Such people are full of energy. According to the test which I have
performed or taken, the degree of Extraversion is an average, which means that people I seldom enjoys
being around people and attending parties and etc. If I need to build up a good network I really need to
work upon this skill. I have to become more extraversion in the terms of getting more social with people.
This skill will help me more in building a strong network connection with the people. The second factor
was the agreeableness. It is the degree I entertain or open to the other people's opinions or suggestions. If
a person has the high degree of agreeableness, it means that he undertakes the opinions and suggestion of
the team members and take them seriously. All the decisions are made after considering all the advices
and opinions of the team members. According to the test, I scored an above average in agreeableness,
which is also my highest score (Jones, 2018). This shows that I believe in maintaining the harmony and
peace in groups and among the group members. This is indicates that I believe in undertaking the
decisions and suggestions of my team members and makes all the decisions while considering the all.
This is a trait which I am good at and which can help me in developing of my career. Another variable
was the emotional stability. Emotional stability refers to the degree towards which I can exercise the

works as a merit to gain the business position of a manager as I know how to have a control upon my
emotions. The decision I made is after taking all the factors in account. I do not take any action
emotionally or with too practicality. At last when talk about openness and consciousness I also scored to
an average which can be taken as good for any individual. This means that I have the knowledge and
understanding about the things which are happening around me and also I am very open to show my
opinions and ideas towards situation or various topics.
From the test presented above, it can be clear that I need to work upon my skills of extraversion so
that I can be social with more people. This skill will help me in building up the more strong connection or
networks (Castillo and et al., 2018).
