MN691 Project: Network Intrusion Detection System Report 2017

This document presents a project on Network Intrusion Detection Systems (NIDS), focusing on anomaly-based detection techniques to identify both known and unknown malware. The project utilizes tools like Wireshark and Snort for packet capture and analysis, employing data mining and statistical methods to classify network traffic.
