This research proposal aims to analyze the recruitment and selection (R&S) strategies and policies employed by multinational corporations (MNCs) within a global context, using Nestle as a case study. The research will evaluate the recruitment and selection strategies adopted by MNCs, assess the impact of these strategies on MNCs' performance at a global level, identify the challenges Nestle faces in formulating R&S strategies, and analyze current trends in R&S in the era of globalization. This research topic has been chosen as it is very interesting topic to conduct a research on. At
present the process of globalization is expanding rapidly and it has become important for
MNCs to improve their process of n order to achieve profits and competitive advantage. This
is what a researcher wants to know so, this topic has been chosen to conduct research on.

According to Sundstromand et.al., (2016) with the introduction of globalization, international
boundaries has been blurred. Globalization has brought up technological advancement along
with international platform to companies for expansion of their business. On the other hand
the Adekiya and Ibrahim, (2016) argued that the technological advancement can be turned as
most challenging for human resource management due to one way communication. The one
way communication created the artificial distance among the employee and organization. The
Clarke and Higgs, (2016) also stated that the involvement of anticipatory challenges are the
major issues for HR executives.As per the view of Treweek and et.al (2018 )the positive
impact of globalization has reshaped the need of workplace . The companies need more of
experts on handling the personnel issues.
Consequence of R&S on performance of MNC's at global level
As per the view of Standiford and et.al., (2018) more HRM practice have the opportunities
for gaining more control over the line management and employer along with their behaviour.
There is the need for skepticism for the transferability of HR idea and practices at the global
level. On the other hand the Kannan (2018) argued that HRM department are more focussing
on transferability of practices rather than the transferability of barriers to manage and achieve

necessary control in company. According to Adekiya and Ibrahim, (2016) HRM Dept. is
having the adoption of different strategy and structure regard the cross cultural adaptability as
to increase the deficiency.
Different challenges faced by Nestle in formulation of R&S strategies in global context
According to Sundstromand et.al., (2016) there is the need for the business organization to
have the skilled , well-trained and the highly motivated employees to have the effective and
efficient growth of the organization. On the other hand the Clarke and Higgs, (2016) argued
that the competency mapping is important criteria that is needed to be followed by human
resource department. The author also stated that in there is requirement of high investment
and change in technologies along with modification in scope, vision and mission of company.
There will be required need for the training and development of employee which turn out to
be expensive to company and leads to reduction and efficiency and effectiveness of company.
The company will face many challenges in providing the level of consistency to company in
conducting operations.
Current trends on R&S in era of globalization
As per the views of Kannan (2018 ) in the recent empirical analysis it was stated that the
company will have to face various challenges regarding the labour market in case of
expansion to another country. The author also stated that there will high level of competitive
advantage in cases of proper understanding n terms of cultural specification which can
influence the companies effectiveness and efficiency. On the other hand the Adekiya and
Ibrahim, (2016) argues that there can be challenges that is related to legislation of different
countries that the company has to face in long terms. There should be no discrimination
among the employee regarding the cultural difference .

What type of research approach and methodologies are you likely
to use and why? What your areas of research will cover:
It is the specific procedure or techniques basically used to identify the process of
selection,processing and analysing the information regarding the selected topic.
Research philosophy- As this is qualitative research, interpretivism philosophy will be
applied by researcher. It involves around the interpretation of researchers as for interpretation
elements of study.
Research design- Researcher will use descriptive research design as it will help to analyse
various issues in detail. Researcher will ensure that no data will be analysed is free of any
kind of biasses. It will be ensured that the selected research design will have the minimum
possible error.
Data source- It is the process which is used in order to collect and measure information using
standard techniques. Researchers can do analysis of topic on the basis of data collected. There
2 types of data collection methods which is used in research which is primary method &

secondary .Primary data is collected directly from source which is fresh data. It can be
collected with the help of surveys, questionnaire, interview etc. Whereas secondary data is
collected through publications of government, trade journals, public reports, statistical as well
as historical data. It is data which has been previously collected in the same field. Researcher
will use both methods of data collection which is primary and secondary.
Sampling technique- Researcher will use non probability sampling in which random sampling
will be used to conduct the research. In simple random sampling each member of population
has been given an equal opportunity. 10 managers of company will be selected randomly to
fill the questionnaire. It is the simplest method which researcher can ensures accuracy of
results.
