Background
Canada is the second largest country in the world and encompasses incredible
geographical variety. Tourism in Canada has a high reputation and it provides good
opportunity for the Tourism Industry to grow the business. Tourism Industry in Canada
represents 2 per cent of the GDP. Canada being a great avenue provides employment
opportunity to 1.7 million of people. It is also assumed the international overnight visits to
Canada will increase by 30 percent by 2021. The Canadian government has also taken
initiatives to accelerates the tourism industry. Canada’s New Tourism Vision has focused on
three pillars, namely Marketing, Access and Product, which helps them, MAP the growth
(Branch 2017). However, it must also be noted that excessive pressure of tourism can lead to
the exploitation of the indigenous cultures present in Canada. Thus, the problem area of this
research would be to explore on the methods of hotel industries and the way it harbours the
need of the tourist. The Canadian hotels and resorts not only gaining popularity but also they
are having an impressive year in term of high occupancy and average daily rates (ADR)
(Branch 2017). The hotel industries in Canada in the rise of globalization and
multiculturalism is rising at faster rate. The research question that this paper will be
addressing will be related the ways and the techniques in which hotel management industry
can bolster the cultural practices of the indigenous people and at the same time ensures the
tourist attraction across globe.
Significance
The tourism industry often mercerises certain aspects of the culture in the global
screen that goes against the will of the indigenous Canadians. Thus, it is very important to
understand the strategies the hotel industries have taken for enhancing the magnetism to draw
masses of people across the continents and oceans. In this way, Canada can embark upon the

kind of research is needed to ensure the competencies of the hotel industries and ensure the

notions of any particular cultural it should also comprehend the n8anaces that are present in
one particular culture. Thus it is important to have a comprehensive understanding the
nuances practices a single cultures endures instead of romanticising the stereotypes. Another
aspect which will be covered this following assignment is the creation of the opportunity of
the indigenous entrepreneur that will create a backup which will be very beneficial for the
long-run of the company. The other importance aspect, which will be addressed on the
following research, is the sustainable development of the country. This is because it has often
been seen that in order to address to the stereotypical notions there has been rise in the
unethical and illegal activities such as fur trading and killing of animals for their specific skin
parts (Archer 2019). This kind of activities needs a check and hotel industries instead
obstructing these illegal activities ends in promoting such kind of practices.
Scope
There is a lot of scope for the research for the methods and strategies of hotel
industries. Since hotel industries are budding, they also provide newer avenues both for its
users and for its entrepreneur. Building better comprehensive strategies for the hotel
industries will not only affect the commercial aspect of the business environment but also
have a positive impact on the social and the cultural life of the people residing in a particular
(Naylornetwork.com. 2011). Business strategies and techniques should also foresee the
business competency and formulate strategies accordingly. Often the tourism pressure lead to
emergence of the over-exploitation of the existing resources thus it has the potential to cause
perils over the existing resources and has a burgeoning effect before the future of these

industries. Thus, it is important to develop newer strategies that will bolster the will of every
section of the population.
Problem statement and objectives
This research will be focused on studying the techniques and methods of the hotel industries
laced in Canada. Owing to the age of globalization and multiculturalism, there is paramount
pressure on the natural resources and there is an emergence of illegal and unethical practices.
These practices emerge due to publicizing the stereopticon notions about the particular
culture. Thus has detrimental effect, which inhibit sustainable development process. The
research will be undertaken in Canada across all the seasons because in that one can notice
the flow of customers. For this research large hotel chains like Wyndham Hotel Group or
Starwood hotel will be studies. The objectives will be to obtain information about the hotel
strategies and practices, to obtain information about the cultural and social impact these
strategies undertake and to develop the strategies for an inclusive development of the
community as a whole.
