Subject: Sunshine 100’s social media policy
Purpose of this memo is informing about incidents and guidelines for use of social media at
workplace in future. Everyone follow the guidelines and no one can break them.
I had wide knowledge about the social media’s advantages for organizations. Social media is
helpful for increasing the productivity of the employee by 30-35 percent. It is also beneficial for
the effective communication and engagement in the work. Acceding to Jones, Social media is
also useful for the recruitment processes. Facebook page are helpful for the publishing content,
such as career development plans, job application.
KidsEats is a campaign for the school age children by the Sunshine 100. In this campaign, our
message is that ‘All of our recipes are pure and free from preservatives, additives, color’. In
these items, we include bags of crisps, donuts, sausage sizzle, ice creams, and cookies. However,
our staff member posts a picture of that refreshment with a comment ‘Junk food, junk food,
everywhere’.
Pringle told me about employees that they spending more time on the Facebook in our
organization. Basis on that, i was thinking to send a mail to the entire staff member for use
Facebook for professional use.
Scientists are using the social media as they have a special purpose for it, which is knowledge
sharing with others. It is helpful for the innovations ‘How Are Scientists Using Social Media in
the Workplace?’ (Collins, Shiffman, & Rock, 2016, p. e0162680).
Social media are used for the spreading information online ‘Multiple social media in the
workplace: Contradictions and congruencies’ (Forsgren, & Byström, 2018, p. 442).
Organizations are having so many advantages from the social media, such as campaign for the
new products on the social media, such as Facebook, Twitter, and instagram. There are different

facilities for business strategies, such as Facebook providing pages for publishing new things. It
will help in the different departments, such as HR department, advertising of new products.
Social media is providing so many benefits in term of productivity of employees “Social Media
in the Workplace: Information Exchange, Productivity, or Waste?” (Fusi, & Feeney, 2018, p.
395).
There are few disadvantages of social media, such as information leak from anyone of the
company employee. It should avoided by securing network and authentication on the social sites.
Social media is managing staress of the employees from their work ‘The stress potential of social
media in the workplace’ (Bucher, Fieseler, & Suphan, 2013, p. 1639).
Social media policies are so important for the organization. It will help to securing personal
information of the organization. These are the policies and guidelines for social media uses:
Positive attitude towards your job: attitude makes a positive environment for employees, so
employees should have a positive attitude towards their work.
Courtesy: Everyone is aware about the image of Sunshine 100. Every employee is to be
courteous, polite and friendly for Sunshine 100 in social media posting.
Think before you post on social media: every post should be consistent with the objective,
business’s marketing, and public relations practices.
Respect copyrights: All employees should follow the rules and regulations of copyright acts in
their content, which is shared on the social media.
Avoid revealing personal information: Employees should limit the quantity of personal data
they disclose online.
Technologies are helpful for the maintaining business and social media is helping to share
knowledge as well as promoting ideas ‘Integrating social media into the workplace: A study of
shifting technology use repertoires’ (Walden, 2016, p. 347).
In future, all the social media post will be watched from out team and they will take action
against any issue occur. There are so many laws for the avoiding copyrights and largish in the

Social media is useful for promoting different processes of the organization, but it should be in
limits “‘Utterly Disgraceful’: Social Media and the Workplace” ( Barnes, Balnave & Holland,
2018, p. 492). Therefore, confidential information is more secure and safe. There are new
policies for all the staff members. Government agencies are responsible for chaking policies of
the private orgnization for using social media for business purposes ‘Social media affordances
and governance in the workplace: An examination of organizational policies’ (Vaast, & Kaganer,
2013, p. 78).
