1. Introduction
The development of the various types of project has been eased by the help of effective
project planning and management. According to Svejvig and Andersen (2015), the principles of
project management are implied for developing the increased efficiency and development of the
project integration management. The development of the project operation and the use of
effective project analysis would allow the formation of the system development. The various
types of project like software and application development, construction projects, event
management, and travel planning are being developed by using methodologies like prince2 and
PMBOK (Martinelli and Milosevic 2016). The project lifecycle is formed by selecting the
methodology and aligning activities in that manner.
The following assignment is a project management report that consists of the some initial
information regarding the project. The project selected for the management report is
“Development of the mobile application for the retail organization”. The project would involve
the use of project initialization process, project planning process, mobile application
development techniques, and project closure. The report would involve the overview of the
project by pointing out the objectives, scope, exclusions, constraints, and deliverables of the
project. The work breakdown structure and explanation of the work package have been also
mentioned in the report. The final section of the report would explain the risk management plan
and project structure.

4. Explanation of a Work Package
The work package can be defined as the collection of sub-activities and aligning them
under a subproject (Nicholas and Steyn 2017). The complete project is formed for ensuring the
development of the effective and improved project operations for developing the mobile
application for the retail organization. The complete project of the “Development of the mobile
application for the retail organization” is divided into 7 work package namely Research and
Business Discovery, Planning Development, Prototyping the user flow, Graphic Design,
Development of Mobile app, Testing, and Marketing and Launch. These work packages are
formed in an integrated form for the complete project schedule and have been explained below,
Work Package of Research and Business Discovery: The research and business
discovery is the first work package of the complete project plan. It involves activities of project
vision development, analysing the application development requirements, resource

accumulation, project team build up, project charter documentation, and risk management plan
(Mir and Pinnington 2014). The work package is a sub-project of the main project of the
“Development of the mobile application for the retail organization” and it would help in
initiating the project plan for the development of the improved project development.
Work Package of Planning Development: The planning development is the most
significant alignment of the project planning methodology for ensuring that the project plan for
the project of the “Development of the mobile application for the retail organization” is
developed successfully. The activities include making list of activities required in mobile app
development, selecting project plan methodology, developing plan outline, review of the plan,
complete plan development, and plan approval (Hegazy 2013). These activities would help in
ensuring that the project plan is developed effectively.

the program and functions required, selecting coding platform for the app, coding the mobile app
program, and integration of the application and database. The mobile application development
consists of the technical development of the project.

managing the probable issues of the project and develop some strategies for the reduction of the
impact on the project (Yildiz et al. 2014). The project of the “Development of the mobile
application for the retail organization” is an application development project and there are

probabilities that the project might face risks. The risks of the project that can have a negative
impact on the project are technical risk, operational risk, and functional risk.

the project (Pritchard and PMP 2014). The risk management plan comprises of identification of

management plan. The process is marked by the analysis of the processes of the project and
sorting the various risks that can impact the project. The identification of the risk is done by the

operation.
Analysis of the Risk: The analysis of the risk is an improved function for the

6. Project Structure
The project has been structured by following the agile methodology for forming the
development of the improved system development. The analysis of the operations would be
