AI Summary
This document outlines a project idea for developing a mobile application for a home security and surveillance system. The project aims to enhance home security by enabling users to monitor their homes remotely through data and instructions sent via sensors and cameras. Key objectives include improving security aspects, utilizing static passwords for user login, and monitoring the home's surroundings to trigger alarms upon intrusion. The project acknowledges challenges such as expensive hardware, false triggers due to frequency interference, and inaccurate sensor coverage in larger areas. The proposed mobile application features include remote door locking/unlocking, monitoring door status, and sending notifications with captured images of individuals entering the premises. The project references academic literature on smart home automation and secure integration of IoT and cloud computing.

1. Title
Development of mobile application for Home Security and Surveillance System”
2. Aim and Objectives
The aim of this project is to increase the home security by means of surveillance system
by sending data as well as receiving instructions by sensors, cameras to as well as from the end
user. Following are the objectives of this research study such as:
To enhance the security aspects for the home environment
To use static passwords for the home users for login
To monitor the surrounding of the house and set alarm when intrusion occurs
3. Challenges
Following are the challenges of the mobile based Home Security and Surveillance system
such as:
1. Expensive hardware therefore total cost for implementation of the system is expensive
2. False triggers are shortcomings in the current system as same frequency interference is
challenge for the sensor system used to detect the motions as well as sense environment.
3. When the area is bigger, then the sensor coverage is not accurately installed to cover
entire areas, therefore it leaves insecure patches.

4. Project idea
The features of the mobile application are such that it can lock and unlock the doors
throughout a home security system and monitor if the doors are locked or not. It notified the
person through the email if the door is left open for too much long time. As there is a
surveillance system, it notifies who entered the door as the camera can capture the image of the
face and then send email to the person.
