AI Summary
This dissertation explores the development and analysis of a reading tutor mobile application designed to aid young children in improving their reading skills. The project encompasses various technical aspects, including the use of Java and Android Studio for development, and emphasizes the importance of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design to ensure ease of use and engagement for children. The application incorporates multimedia elements such as images and audio to create an interactive learning environment, featuring exercises like matching pairs and recognizing letters. The dissertation covers requirements gathering, analysis (PACT and Heuristic Evaluation), and specification, including functional and non-functional requirements. The aim is to create an application that not only facilitates reading but also analyzes student performance, produces reports, and provides a flexible platform for teachers to add exercises. The conclusion emphasizes the potential of mobile applications in advancing children's learning and highlights the importance of time constraints to prevent overuse.

ABSTRACT
In twenty first century information technology has shown many new and innovative ways
in different fields related to the welfare of mankind. It is already possible to distribute knowledge
and information through internet to people. In the field of study information technology has
opened a new era by making a multimedia based platform for teaching purpose. The main idea of
creating this platform is to help the children to learn in a better and easier way. Children can find
interest and also they can understand easily with the help of such platform (Pedrycz and Chen
2015). A reading tutor mobile app is one of the platforms which are discussed here. This mobile
application can be used very easily and only require a mobile and connectivity. The guardian or
the teacher can download and program the content which can be available as per requirement.
The main objective of this application is to make the children reading very easily (Anisimova
and Krasnova 2015). They are encouraged to match pairs, recognize colours and letters with the
help of interesting and interactive features. The analytical power of the children is also increased
as it can help them to find out suitable letters or words from a paragraph (Violante and Vezzetti
2015). The children learn better as it is also an interaction based program.
In this dissertation all the technical aspects and objectives of the mobile application are
discussed with proper methodology (Violante and Vezzetti 2015). The main idea of making this
mobile application is to make t7he children comfortable in reading and studying from this
program. There are certain applications which are required for the installation of this mobile
application. The mobile must be Java supported by Antdroid Studio. The user experience is an
important factor to use this mobile application. The reading tutor mobile application should be
designed in such a way that the user can be comfortable and the program should also be user
friendly (Shin and Bryant 2017). User interface is the main media through which the children

will interact and for that reason it must be interesting. There are many options and tools in the
interface so that the children can modify it as per requirement. The content of this application is
created in such a way so that the teachers can provide suitable exercises in a easier way. The
program of the application does not allow the children to be addicted also. It is also important to
restrict the children for misuse or overuse this app (Ahn and Lee 2016). For that reason the time
constraint is included in this application. The size of the application should be enough so that
many exercises are allowed to be installed in it. There are visual as well as audio file which are
used in the interface. The interface can be also in landscape mode and can push notifications for
remainder purpose.
CONCLUSION
From the above discussion it can be concluded that the way of learning for the children is
advanced in many ways with the help of the mobile application. In this dissertation many
information and cases are discussed and analyzed in order to understand the performance of the
application. It is observed from the outcome that children are not only able to read easily but also
their performance is analyzed from different aspect. The guardian and teacher can find out the
skill and points of interest of the child. The application attracts the children to learn and make it
easier for them to read. For that reason study is no longer a boring subject for the children. The
program of the application does not allow the children to be addicted also. It is also important to
restrict the children for misuse or overuse this app. For that reason the time constraint is included
in this application. The mobile application can be run in android mobile phones which are
broadly available. For the introduction of visual as well as audio objects, children find it more
suitable and also they can find interests in learning through such interesting interface. The
reading tutor mobile application provides a platform in which students can find motivation as
