1MOBILE BASED FARMER SUPPORT APPLICATION
Assignment 2
Overview of the project
The mobile based farmer support application is referred to as a system that helps any
business organization to increase their business efficiency, competitive advantages and
commercial benefits. This mobile based application system is designed to make the farming
system user friendly, less time consuming and cost effective as well. Currently the company has
two major products for implementation such as farm equipment and precision farming. In the
field of agricultural business the farm has over 30 years of experiences and this one of the largest
in the Riverina regional area. With the help of the system the farmers would be able to take
effective decisions to serve the farming operations.
The precision farming has integrated wide range of technologies in terms of application
software, wireless communication, GPS, lased optical etc. The integrated solution developed by
the company will allow the consumers to insert, manage and analyze all details complex
information in details. The integrated solution will reduce the complexity and increase the
business efficiency. The final reporting system include Crops required per geographical area,
registered farmer per geographical areas and requirements produced for all the registered
wholesalers and markets. The project is divided into four subparts and the four team members
are assigned to each of the project sub parts. Four project team members are required to
accomplish the team charter, scribe and communication plan successfully within assigned
timeline and budget.

4.1 Individual reflection
In order to fulfill the farming requirements in the specific area Globex is recently putting
their focus on the network or channels. The willing farmers will be able to use the mobile based
application regardless of their location and time as well. The service representatives of the
company have completed their training on the new technologies. Leadership qualities,
techniques, skills and methods required for project management in IT are all essential for project
success. I have learned that in order to design and develop any project the main aspects that
needs to be come under the focus of the project managers are different knowledge management
areas. For this particular project, the knowledge management areas those are to be accomplished
individually include risk management plan, scope management plan, communication strategies,
quality management plan, time and cost management plan and resource management plan.
Before initiating this project the project manager requires to focus on the functional and
non functional requirements also to avoid issues of cost over allocation and overrunning time. I
have also realized that after developing the project scope statement that is to be shared with
others through open communication. Open communication approach offers an independent
platform to the project team members so that they can share all their ideas and innovation
regarding the mobile based application much precisely with the project team members. Apart
from that, Risk management is another knowledge management area which needs to come under
focus. Before initiating the project if risk register is prepared then it would help to identify the
