1. Introduction
The intention of this research is to identify how society has been affected by the use
of mobile phones (Sarwar & Soomro, 2013).The research was conducted from different
participants to identify how the technology on use of mobile phones has influenced different
fields. The participants used in the research tried to compare the positive and negative effects
of mobile phones in the society.
2. Purpose of statement.
Mobile phones are the leading communication devices in modern world. They all
have positive and negative results to the society (Sarwar & Soomro, 2013).
3. Research questions.
What are some of the positive and negative effects on use of mobile phones in society?
Are mobile phones useful in society?
How society has transformed based on use of mobile phones in different fields?
4. Literature review.
In real sense Mobile phone is always a gadget that has is composed of advanced
features that are different from the traditional ways making calls and sending messages
(Roberts, Yaya, Manolis, 2014). They are capable to play videos, capable to store personal
data and able to send audios and videos .Due to these capabilities they have transformed
society in different ways
5. Methodology.
This section of research revealed how information was collected from a group of
participants. The participants were university students who were interviewed on effects of use

of Mobile phone in the society. A total number of 20 students were used and they filed in
questionnaire each indicating how society has been affected by the use of mobile phones. The
results on how mobile phones has affected society negatively and positively in fields such as
education, business, and social impacts were averaged and given in percentage.

(a).Business
Jones (2014) describes how addiction of mobile phones have initiated a new phase in
business. The positive results of mobile in business includes development of new
opportunities through e-commerce and increased rates of advertisement in business .Based
on the negative effects we have noticed on how people are abandoning on use of PC. Most of
the people are preferring for mobile phones thus subjecting PCs related companies to lack
customers.
(b).Education.
Use of mobile phones has affected education system over the world. The positive effects
includes high rates of accessing educational materials from internet and increased aspect of
distance learning. Students can access academic services through mobile phones with much

ease. On negative effects mobile phones have encouraged laziness within the students and
also they have been identified as distractors in class (Jones, 2014).
(c)Social impacts.
Social life has been highly affected by mobile phones. Smartphones have enhanced easy
communication through messaging. This has enhanced integration thus forming the positive
effects (Acharya, Acharya, Waghrey, 2013).Addiction on use of immoral videos in mobile
phones and increased cases of insecurity .They have negative impacts to the society.
7. Conclusion and future recommendation
From the discussion above it is true that mobile phones have sizeable effects on the
society. In order for the society to identify the positive and negative effect it is necessary for
the users to know how to use mobile phones smartly (Acharya et al.,2013).Policies and
procedures should be formulated to regulate the use of mobile phones in society.
