AI Summary
This project presents a comprehensive analysis of mobile and wireless network site surveys, focusing on the application of Ekahau Heat Mapper and WiTuners for WLAN deployment and planning. The project begins with an introduction to the significance of site surveys for wireless coverage and explores the functionalities of Ekahau Heat Mapper, a tool used for mapping Wi-Fi coverage areas, including its features like localizing access points and visualizing signal strength. The project then delves into WLAN planning and deployment, describing the role of WiTuners in capturing signal strength and facilitating both user-guided and automated network planning. Screenshots from the site survey using Ekahau Heat Mapper and the planning and deployment of WLAN using WiTuners are provided. The project emphasizes the importance of factors like signal strength, propagation conditions, and interference in deploying WLANs and highlights the benefits of WLANs, such as flexibility, productivity gains, and reduced cabling costs. The project concludes by summarizing the key findings and referencing the sources used.

1. Introduction
The initial task is to performing the site survey for the wireless coverage. It is performed at
the selected floor of a building in Sydney campus. The Site survey of wireless signal coverage at
the Building D will be taken by using Ekahau Heat Mapper software. The WLAN deployment
and planning will be performed by WI tuners. A WI tuner is used to capture the signal strength
from the AP (Access Point) in the environment. The auditing and optimization will be run to
validate the design. The result of the site survey will be shown at the Heat Mapper.
2. Wi-Fi Site survey performance using Ekahau Heat Mapper
2.1 Description of Ekahau Heat Mapper
Ekahau Heat Mapper is mapping tool, used to note the Wi-Fi coverage area. It is also used
for planning the Wi-Fi network. It supports at Microsoft windows and Mac OS (Au, 2010). The
features of Ekahau Heat Mapper.
Localize entire (AP)Access Points
Show Wi-Fi coverage on a map
Discover presented networks
Identify security surroundings
It provides the supports for 802.11n.
Installing Ekahau Heat Mapper at system is simple.
It requires no cost.
Free of charge, one-minute install.
Heat Mapper
Heat Mapper is used to represent the data in two dimensional representations. The data is
present in the color format. It is helpful to understand the complex value. It is very simple to use
and provide the accurate result. Heat maps are used to show the RSSI values. This value is taken
from the client or AP perspective. Heat maps are used to show the data rates. This value is taken
from the client or AP perspective. It is also used to show the QOS performance.

3. Planning and deployment of WLAN
3.1 Description of WiTuners
The WiTuners is used to take the Wi-Fi signal coverage as site survey. The Wi-Fi signal
coverage site survey is held at floor plan. It collects the data from all Access Pont(AP) at
surroundings . WiTuners accepts the user guided deployment as well as automated green field
planning updating and planning (Kushki, Plataniotis and Venetsanopoulos, 2012). After
launching the wizard, it prompts the user to load a scanned copy of the floor plans, to set the
scale, and to set the overall deployment area surrounding the desired structure. One could attach
the file in the format of JPEG or PDF and also it receives XML files that describe structures and
attenuation values.
The features of WiTuners
It has the ability to take continues Wi-Fi site survey.
The screenshots of the images and data are taken during the process of site survey.
one could do the site survey from anywhere, even at the remote area.
To detect the rogue AP.
it has ability support the spectrum analyzer.
During the site survey of wifi,It enables the wifi professionals to access the WLAN
network.
Benefits of WiTuners
WiTuners solution requires low cost and provide result accurately at the correct time.
It is very helpful to maintain the WLAN performance.
Quick adaptations towards traffic and broadcast effects are assured since the WiTuners
network is ongoing to simulate the actual world Network in expectation of change to
optimization.
3.2 Planning wireless network.
WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) has the security, high availability, accessibility
and QOS (Quality Of Service) like the Wired users.
Requirements
WLAN systems run both as an adjunct to the existing wired enterprise network within a branch,
specific teleworker, or secured to applications in the, manufacturing, retail industries. WLAN is used to
permit encrypted, secure, authorized communication for the users. To provide the perfect enterprise
