associated with the employees of the company. Every company has limited resources but it
depends upon the management of the company to allocate the resources wisely which can help in
accomplishing the goals and objectives of the company. Human resource management is the
strategy approach which helps in maintaining a positive work culture at the workplace (Malik,
and Sanders, 2021 ). With the effective management of the corporate culture it helps the
employees to contribute effectively in the achievement of the organisational goals. The human
resource department provides wide knowledge to their employees by conducting the training and
development programs and also advice which motivates the employees to engage and participate
in the activities of the business and share their ideas and views which can further help in their
personal and professional development (ROMANELLI, and SENA, 2018). The present report
covers the strategies and techniques that can be used by the managers and also the theories
related to the employees engagement. Employee voice and related theories are also highlighted
in this report. Along with this, training and development related theories and practices are also
discussed.

encourage the employees. It is necessary that there should be a positive and favorable
organizational culture where superior and subordinates openly communicate with each other
regarding any issues and their opinions which ensure exchange of the ideas and views which

start working in the organization. It is the responsibility of HRM to maintain sufficient
manpower inventory that ensures smooth functioning of the company. The management has to
make efforts to devise employee benefit schemes which will motivate the employees and
increase their engagement in the activities of the business(Hook., Jenkins, 2019). It is
important that the employee should engage in the activities of the company as according to the
studies it observed that engaged employees results in an increase in the productivity of the
employee (Chanana, 2021). If the employee is engaged in their roles and hence less likely to
leave their job, it helps in retaining the best talent in the company. The managers of the company
can plan various techniques and strategies which lays emphasis on the engagement of the
employees in the company. Various strategies that can be used by the managers:
Performance reviews and survey: Surveys are considered as an effective tool that helps
in enhancing the employee’s engagement in the company. With the help of employee
surveys that can gain knowledge and how the employees perceive their issues that affects
their performance. The surveys that will be conducted by the managers will helps in
identifying the changing behavior of the employees and the level of training that is
required that meet the needs of the employees and enhance their engagement in the
company (Islami, Mulolli, and Mustafa, 2018. ).Along with the surveys, performance
reviews are also considered as an effective tool that is linked with the employee
engagement and also their performance. In order to evaluate this, the managers can use
social media platforms to provide feedback on the performance of the workers. They also
can analyze and take actions from the results that are received from the surveys
associated with the employee engagement. With the help of the feedback received from
the employees, the manager can take various measures on the low performance and
engagement and focus on getting positive outcome and same implementation in the
company.
Work-life balance: Healthy and positive working environment can contribute
effectively and enhance the employee engagement in the organisation (Jaharuddin, and
Zainol, 2019. . From the studies it has been observed that favourable work culture and
work from home culture that was started by most of the companies during Covid-19 has
resulted in an increase in the employee engagement and also retention of the employees

(Palumbo, 2020. ). Companies that offer various benefits such as maternity leave, part
time job employment tend to have a high level of engagement in the company.
Training and development: Training and development programs can help in increasing
the performance of the employees. Training plays a very major role in achieving the high
standard of the employees(Alzyoud, 2018. ). The companies that are involved in
providing training to the employees from the human resource improve the employee
engagement in the company.
The manager can consider the Hertzberg two factor theories and evaluate the two factors that can
help to increase the employee engagement in the organisation. According to the theory there are
motivating and hygiene factors that to be taken into account. The manager should evaluate the
types of hygiene factors that can cause satisfaction and dissatisfaction among the employees. The
factors include the job security, working conditions, salary etc (Kotni, and Karumuri, 2018. ).
If these factors are successfully met by the managers then it helps in retaining the employees and
increases the engagement of the employees and on the other hand if not met causes
dissatisfaction. The other element is the motivators which include the rewards, appreciation,
participation, responsibility etc. The manager should make strategies which increase the
employee engagement such as rewarding their workers on the achievement of the task effectively
and giving the responsibility to take decisions which can be beneficial for the company (Clack,
2020 ). By taking these initiatives, employees will feel that their efforts are valued by the
company and automatically they will be contributing and participating in the activities of the
company.
Advantage and disadvantage of the strategies
Advantage:
It increases employee safety as employee engagement is considered as the strength of the
mental and emotional connection that employees feel towards their work.
Engaged employees are invested in their jobs and also in the success of their team. They
are committed towards achieving the goals of the company and put their efforts in
accomplishing the target (Mone,and London, 2018. ).
It helps in retaining the employees as they are satisfied by the working environment and
other employee benefits which boost their confidence and they work effectively in
achieving the objectives.

Disadvantage:
Meetings with the seniors or experts include various discussions which can be difficult to
understand so in that case it becomes difficult for the subordinates which can be an issue.
Sharing confidential information can be a problem as there are high chances of getting the
information leaked which can create future problems for the company.
Communication approach that will assist greater “Employee Voice”.
Employee’s voice means by which employees can effectively communicate their views
with their employers that affects their performance. With the help of this , it helps in creating
and building effective relationships between employer and employee which can result in
achievement of the objectives and goals of the organisation. The importance of employee voice
is that it helps in building effective communication, increases productivity and also helps in
organisational success(Nechanska, et.al, 2020.). It also helps in creating favourable relationships
in the organisation. With the help of employees' voices, an individual gets the opportunities to
express their views and opinions or any issues they face which are affecting their performance. If
the employees feel that they are not valued in the company they will be silent and not express it
which can reflect on their performance. This can be a big problem for the company so it is
important for the manager to create an environment which enable the employees to approach the
manager and express their issues through which the manager can understand the root cause of
this(Wæraas, et.al ,2020 ). Only getting rewards and recognition is not important. It is also
necessary that the employees should communicate with their managers often so that managers
can support in overcoming these problems and find ways in increasing their knowledge and skills
so that they can effectively contribute to organisational success. The importance of employees
voice are:
Greater job satisfaction: those employees who have more inclusion in the company feel that
their issues and views should be heard and helping the employees in the workplace will boost
their morale and also encourages more participation in the activities of the business.
Positive work culture: It is very important in today’s world that the employees should gain trust
in the company, its managers and leaders. It can be only achieved through effective
communication between the workforce and the superiors (Wilkinson, et.al, 2018.) . With the help

of consistent and effective interaction will help in building trust and keeps the employees
satisfied that their efforts are valued by the company.
Innovation: Innovation plays a very major role in the access of the company but in order to
implement it it requires great knowledge and experience which can be achieved through effective
decision by the company (de Azevedo,et.al, 2020). With the help of employees' voices the
manager can ask the employees to share their views and opinions which can be helpful in making
innovation and presenting new services to its customers resulting in enhancing the brand image
in the market.
Improves employee retention: It is observed that employees are far likely to leave the company
where they feel that their voice and efforts are not valued. If the managers and leaders
continuously make efforts in involving the employees, sharing their ideas and thoughts results in
improving the feeling of recognition among the employees and increase the employee retention
which can benefit the company to achieve its objectives and goals.
Advantage of employee voice on employees
Develops confidence: When employees feel that they can freely communicate their views at the
workplace, it develops their confidence in the company and feel that they are valued and they
focus on building their skills and knowledge to contribute in the achievement of the success of
the company.
Increased focus: If the employees have a positive experience when they share their views with
the managers it helps in concentrating on their work and also they take initiatives in performing
the task and focus on the achievement of the organisational objectives.
Feel more supportive: When the managers support their employees in overcoming the
challenges that employees face while performing their task then employees feel more supportive
and contribute effectively in the achievement of the goals and objectives.
Benefits of employee voice on employers
Communication: It will enhance the communication between the employer and employee and
they can effectively coordinate with others (Wang, et.al, 2019.).Having effective communication
will help the employer to delegate the responsibilities to the employee.
The manager can come up with new ideas and strategies that will help in the development of the
employees such as training and development.
Disadvantage of employee voice on employee and employer
Document Page
Dissatisfaction: If the managers do not communicate or listen to the employees and use an
autocratic style of leadership and take decisions without the involvement and do not consider the
efforts of the employees then it creates dissatisfaction among the employees that will reflect on
their performance.
Decline in the performance: If the employees are dissatisfied by the organisational culture and
working environment of the company where the superiors ignore the issues and problems and do
not consider the efforts of the employees will directly impact their performance which has a
direct impact on the productivity of the organisation.
It is the responsibility of the managers to take various measures in order to enhance the
concept of employee voice and introduce best practice for achieving this:
The manager should focus on introducing more modified leadership styles in their
management as it is observed that transformational leadership style and employee voice
have positive relationships which can be helpful in the achievement of the objective. The
companies using the authoritative leadership style should switch to employee centred
style in their planning strategies.
The managers should ensure that all the employees participate collectively in the
activities of the company where they can openly interact and present their ideas and
views that are beneficial in the achievement of the objectives.
Training and development considerations in your business proposal to enhance both managers
and employees’ understanding, roles and responsibilities, quoting relevant theories and
best practices.
Training and development refers to obtaining the required skill and knowledge and
abilities in order to perform the activities and function of the company in an efficient manner. In
order to meet the current changing market, organisation focus on providing learning, training and
development programs to the employees so that they can be able to give better services to the
customers (Haugen,et.al, 2019. ).The raining and developmental programs conducted by the
company not only focus on achieving the objectives of the company but also helps in the
professional development of the employees. It is observed that the current business environment
is dynamic in nature and is constantly evolving. It is very necessary for the management and the
leaders to train the employees in order to face these situations(Manresa, Bikfalvi, and Simon,
2019. ). The manager can involve good training and development strategy so that employees and

other members in the company can acquire the required skill and knowledge to deal with such
changes in an effective manner. In order to make the business successful and also for long term
growth, the management has to consider various areas while developing the training and
development strategies. With the help of these considerations it can help in enhancing the roles
and responsibilities of the employees as well as the managers.
Alignment with overall strategies: It is important for the manager to ensure that the training
and development strategy should be aligned with the overall business strategy as these are unique
and different. If the training courses are aligned with the business strategy will help the
organisation for long term success and growth.
Priorities: In order to successfully achieve the objectives, it is necessary to make the training
and development strategy and organisational strategy (Doma, et.al, 2019.). The management of
the company should focus on the career development of the senior management officials and
they must be given priority while planning for the training and development.
Resources: The business can use the effective resources while planning for the development
strategy and create effective corporate training packages. The management can consider various
aspects such as in -house training courses or workshops so that they can effectively use the
resources. With the help of these resources, the company can enhance teamwork and also build
the knowledge of the employees.
Internal stakeholder assessment: The business can conduct the internal stakeholder assessment
and identify their requirement from the strategy (Suchomel, and et.al, 2018). In order to conduct
the training programs for specific departments the management can take the opinions of the
respective team to know the requirements of the training and development.
Availability of the tools and techniques: In order to incorporate the effective training and
developmental programs it is important to have the availability of the tools and techniques that
are required for successful completion of the training and development programs.
Various theories related to training and development
Theory of reinforcement: This theory was proposed by Skinner, an economist and stated that
the training and development programs should be aligned with the organisational objectives and
positive outcomes. According to this theory there are various techniques that are available in the
human resource practices that are associated with the training and development programs
(Chang, et.al, 2021). This theory also emphasises the learning behaviour of an individual and

suggests that the employee will repeat the same behaviour that is attached to the positive
outcome. Various rewards are attached in the form of salary, bonus, appraisals and certificates of
the training programs are related and the rewards can help in generating positive outcome. If the
company implements this in their management then according to this theory, the employee will
have keen interest in the training programs that is conducted by the company which will result in
positive outcome.
Theory of experiential learning: This theory was developed by Rogers and states that the needs
of the employees can be addressed by learning(Katz, and Shah, 2020.). Experience gives the
employee maturity and also increases their learning power along with the development of skill
and knowledge. With the help of this the learner can conduct a self-evaluation test that helps in
understanding their learning behaviour.
Recommendation:
In order to achieve the goals and objectives of the company, the manager should use various
techniques and strategies which will help in increasing the employee engagement in the
company. The manager can also focus on making modifications in the organisational culture
where the employees can openly communicate about their issues which helps in building a strong
bond which will motivate the employees to contribute their efforts and focus on achieving the
organisational goals.
It is also suggested that the management should incorporate employee voice mechanisms
which helps the employee to present their views and opinions and feel that their views are valued
by the company which will boost their morale and help in moving towards achieving the goals
and objectives of the company.
The organisation is incorporated for achieving the specific target and in order to achieve this
it will require great knowledge and experts to be recruited in the company (Rigby, and Ryan,
2018. ). So in order to fulfil this the manager should focus on conducting various training and
developmental programs which helps in enhancing the skills and knowledge of the employees so
that they can effectively face the changing situations which also helps in their professional
development and increase their confidence in accomplishing the task efficiently.
